Sam Webb write up on LB Rick DeBerry From VA
"The Wolverines began showing interest in DeBerry back in January when Brady Hoke and then-Michigan assistant Jerry Montgomery stopped by St. Christopher's. Montgomery's departure for Oklahoma led to a brief lull in Communication with the Maize & Blue, but when new assistant Roy Manning took over, things picked up right where they left off. By the time DeBerry & company made it to Ann Arbor last Friday a strong rapport had already been forged. The face time only served to strengthen it."

That is kind of what we do now right? It is fantastic to get in on this kid early, and getting him on campus once already is great. I am glad to see that Manning is building relationships and getting kids on campus. Not hard to believe from a guy with his personality.

See you in a couple years Ricky.
Met Roy during Hand's visit, and kicked it with him after he saw Deberry. He's fantastic for this staff, he's enthusiastic, loves the school obviously...but he's a real dude! He's going to be a difference maker
Roy Manning is going to be hugue for our program. Young guy who seems to really relate with the kids. This football team is going to be scary good for the forseeable future.
Manning sounds like a fantastic recruiter, and you have to think he'll only get better surrounded by this staff. Teach him your ways, Coach Mattison.
