Sam Webb predicts the last 4 kids in the class

This morning on recruiting roundup, someone asked Sam if today were signing day, who the last 4 kids of this class were going to be. As ALWAYS, this was just Sam's "opinion", but here are the kids that he thought would join this class.

-Yuri Wright

-Bri'onte Dunn

-Jordan Payton

-Amara Darboh

I would agree for the most part, maybe substitute Wright for Banner, because that seems the most reasonable based upon recent happenings. I guess I have trouble putting a kid in this class who has yet to visit or even schedule a visit to campus. Maybe it works out that we can get 5 more kids in this class, as always we'll see.

In all honesty, I know we wanted one more linemen, but I honestly feel thats is because we were in on so many highly rated guys, and if we can squeeze 5 mroe commits it will deff. be a linemen. But I am already in love with what we have done for the OL and can hold off until 2013 now.

Yuri Wright is a stud, 5-star talent. You don't pass at that. I think it would be great to finsih out the already defensively minded class with Yuri, give Greg more peices, create depth and that day to day battle at practice.

Payton and Dabroh are two quality players at a position of need. As for Dunn, we have all been crossing our fingers for a while now.

For the most part I feel like the feeling is that both Garnett and Banner will end up on the west coast. Add to that, that it looks like the interest in Jordan Diamond has cooled on both fronts, and this kind of makes sense. Having said that, I still wouldn't be shocked to see Banner in this class.

And you think that something else is more reasonable.  On the one hand, we have a radio guy, program connected, been in the recruiting game for many years.  On the other hand, we have an mgoblog member since early 2011 who thinks that another outcome is more reasonable.  Makes sense.

It could end up that way.  If we land Wright, Darboh, Payton, and Dunn, that will make 15 4-star guys, most of whom were wanted nationally.  Our 3-star guys are guys like Godin, Funchess, Ojemudia, Braden, and Wormley, who got offers from at least a few other major programs.  It's an almost perfectly balanced class that is especially great in the trenches.  It's got everything but a QB, which won't matter if Gardner gets his redshirt.  The 1995 and 1998 classes were amazing too, but this class might end up as the best.

Isn't that going off a 26 person class?  If we take 28, that means we have room for 6 more.  I'd like those 4 plus Banner and a DT (though with Obrien to UT, the last one may have sailed).

It sure seems like the coaches are going to push for another lineman, since they just offered Alex Kozan.  Whether it's Garnett, Banner, Diamond, Kozan, or whoever, I think it's obvious the coaches want a sixth lineman.

Still, strategically, I wonder if it might make sense to hold off on another lineman until next year (if the Banners and Garnetts of the world go elsewhere).  Doing so would enable the coaching staff to sell a thin depth chart again next season, and I think recruits are less worried about those in their same class than those older than them.  Plus, it already seems like we're in on a bunch of good 2013 OL prospects.

Yeah, Ball is good. I had some high hopes for a couple of the RBs we have on staff, particularly Rod Smith. So far, Smith can't keep ahold of the football, but it's still early and he's young. I think a mature Smith, Hyde and Ball would be a great backfield depth chart. But Dunn would come in and make an immediate impact.

I agree that we don't know until we know and that it is certainly fun to talk. That's really why I come here, to have fun talking. I like talking on OSU sites too, but it's fun and interesting to have logical, rational discussions with the Michigan faithful as well. I think I can come here and provide some perspective from the OSU pov and get some UofM pov as well. I appreciate the civility you guys (almost all of you really) show me over here.
