Hoke wasn't an asshole like DB.  He was a guy who took his dream job, like most of us wish we could.  And unfortunately for him, his failures were on a much a larger stage.

Plus, I don't believe in premature posbangulation until we have a HC worth celebrating.

We'll lose some guys in the transition, but that's to be expected.  If we hire a big name coach, we'll also pick up some unexpected recruits before signing day as well, and we can gear up for a big recruiting class in 2016 where we can either sell hope and progress (like PSU is doing) or actual success on the field.  This does not worry me.

I said this in the "if hoke is retained" thread...waiting until the team meeting made the most sense of the situation and explains why the AD has been quiet and why it has been business as usual in Ann Arbor today.

This reduces media speculation and let's hoke tell the players himself and you avoid the backlash like you saw in Nebraska yesterday.

This makes a lot of sense and it is the right time. Just like he tried his best and we can't fault his effort, nobody can fault our fan base for wanting to make a change at this juncture and for being angry and frustrated. Hoke got four years and the performance declined in all of them. The coaching seemed to lose us games which if we had won may have been enough to give this staff a fifth year. The team to their credit has fought hard and never given up. I hope they stick with us and give the new staff a chance and that they know we support them even if a few people attack them needlessly and personally and not constructively. This isn't over and hopefully Hoke did stabilize the program in some ways and left the material needed to give is awesome lines for many years to come which will help to make any coach and staff successful. I wish him well but don't think he is getting the short stick. He has been well compensated and will find another job and we will both be fine. Much success to both parties and to this entire staff in their future endeavors except when they play us.
