I've been just about everywhere in Michigan.  When you get outside the SE corner of the state and away from large areas (say, Grand Rapids) it's largely Sparty Nation.  Sprinkle some affluence on an area (say, around Traverse City) and the scale will tip back toward UMich.

Drive as far as the western UP and you will, of course, find lots of Packer and Badger fans.

I'm from Forest Hills and the FH-EGR area is as much UM as MSU, maybe even a little more UM.  Most of my friends were M fans until most of them didn't get in and ended up at State.  One of the most annoying MSU friends I have is a kid who was supposed to be my roommate freshman year at M until he didn't get in and ended up at State.  At least he can't use the "I got in to Michigan but I wanted to go to MSU" line on me.

Matt Godin. Haven't heard much about him since he visited A2 a couple of times. I think he would like to be Michigan's first commit for 2012. Just a guess of course.

Was it yesterday? I was under the impression that today was the day he was supposed to be on campus? Regardless, I highly doubt its him. I"m gonna go with Godin too.  We haven't heard much from his camp lately and he was "high" on Michigan and nearing a upcoming desicion from what I've gathered on the situation.

Shoulding Sam Webb reserve his "gut feelings" for times associated with an actual player's name?  I mean, there's no harm is saying, "Michigan will be getting it's first recruit today".  Sam's gut should be used only to name drop someone.

No, that's the point of saying "gut feeling" instead of "he told me personally he'd commit today."  If you don't name a player, you might as well come out and just say someone is committing.  There's no sense in being doubly vague - I think that's what the above poster was saying, so the negs aren't justified, IMO.
