Sam Webb has a "gut feeling" about ANOTHER recruit.

Submitted by LSA Superstar on

On WTKA this morning, Sam Webb said he had a "gut feeling" about NC DE/DT Darian Roseboro.  While he's claimed that Roseboro has been trending blue for a while, I'm pretty sure this is the first time he busted out the big label.

You can hear for yourself on WTKA's podcasts.  It's Segment 3 at around 5:40.

There's lots of time and nothing is set in stone.  The coaches must, as always, recruit to the bell.  But this bodes well.

Sometime during the 2012 class, I thought "this is too good to last" but here we are 3 years later and it's still rolling strong. It's even more amazing considering our struggles last year and all the hot seat BS. It's pretty clear at this point the coaches really built an atmosphere here that's pretty special.

All things being equal the current haul is more impressive than 2012 because

(a) recent results on the field being meh for 2 years vs Sugar Bowl momentum

(b) don't have the shiny new coach momentum

(c) some major decommits, seemingly replaced by very like minded pieces

(d) I was told Curtis Blackwell will secure all talent in the state for MSU or at least 7 of the top 8, leaving us some scraps

Definitely not an issue of recruiting around these parts.  Would like to see it begin to really translate on the field.

Recruiting has been a strong point of this staff, now with a (hopefully) consistent offensive scheme the pieces are in place for Michigan to return to the upper echelon of the Big Ten.

it generally means the recruit has given solid indications in private to Sam that he's committing to Michigan.

Roseboro is a huge get.

I agree with Miggle: Parker is the only actual "gut feeling" miss recently. Sam has been confident about other recruits who have gone elsewhere, but his "gut feelings" have essentially been guarantees.

I'm pretty sure he gave a "gut feeling" that Ty Isaac was going to Michigan (the first time, not this most recent time). I remember being super excited because I had just started following recruiting a little more closely and it was the first time I had actually heard a live broadcast with Sam. I guess it depends on your particular definition of "recent." However, he's a name that I trust and I hope it's in regards to Roseboro myself.

haven't heard a peep throughout his recruitment

And I have already started counting Roseboro as part of the class in my head
