Sam Webb "All-American Gut Feeling" on Sean Parker

Submitted by umhero on
I just listened to the WTKA Recruiting Roundup and a caller asked Sam who the "All-American" Sam was having one of his famous gut feelings about? Sam said based on conversations he had with Sean and other players (read Cullen?) at the Army All-American Game, he has a strong feeling that Parker will be a Wolverine. He did remind listeners that he had a "gut feeling" in the past about Grimes too, but he pointed out circumstances changed with Grimes. He is hopeful we will be able to keep Parker for the final three week of recruiting. http://www.wtka.com/index.php?fuseaction=home.podcasts_sel&id=3074

Perhaps they should allow for wagering on Sam's "gut feelings" in Greektown's Casino; might bring some of the lost gambling action back and make the offseason more exciting for football wagerers.

Speaking of safeties: just one year ago, everyone was over the moon about the incoming freshman Isaiah Bell, who was among our highest-rated recruits. He was redshirted. Meantime, it's as if he vanished from the face of the earth. Am I missing something? Otherwise, it's a little early to give up on the kid before he's played his first down as a freshman, no? For all we know, he could be terrific. He was ticketed as such.

and others, but that's because they projected him as a safety. I think he'll be a sick linebacker in another year. Not just that, but think of all the fun the announcers can have with his name: "And Bell rings another kid to the ground." "I think it's safe to say, Tom, that he just got his Bell rung, if you know what I mean." And so forth.

He wasn't behind Roh because he was never going to play Deathbacker, but he was a true freshman in his first year in a new position playing behind returning starters (albeit not the best ones on the team). A RS was good for him, but I agree with you that he'll be good. He's big, athletic, and loves to hit - perfect for a LB. If he can get the mental part down, he'll be the real deal.

I wish Brian would tell us when he is going to appear on WTKA. For all I know, he already has and I missed it. Anyway, he was very entertaining, and mgoblog was mentioned a bit. I think it would be great if more of us knew, because I am pretty sure the phone lines would be packed with mgocallers. Even as it was, it was fun trying to figure out the mgohandles of the callers who made it on-air.

Someone should make a doll like Mr. McGibblets on "The League" and make it look just like Sam and put Michigan gear on it. It could be called Mr. Webblets and the jingle would be..... "Commit to M, and rub my belly" and as strange as it sounds, I would buy one for good luck every year!

I must have ate something spicy or someone slipped me a narcotic because when I read that I immediately thought of Mini Me committing to Michigan while Fat Bastard danced arround in a Michigan colored scottish outfit. Like I said in the post above, I disturb myself sometimes. 3..2..1..Cue the Vern Troyer fan pics.

Sometimes I wonder how many MGoBloggers I knew when I went to UM. I'm guessing there are probably some regular posters/readers on here who I was friends with but don't know it.

I spotted Jim Brandstatter in the parking lot outside the stadium before a game one time and gave him a runnnnnnnnnning jump hug shouting "JIM BRANDSTATTERRRRRR!" He was kind of surprised but was super nice about it.

to be so excited about GUT FEELINGS?? Usually a gut feeling means the girl says no, you didn't get the job, or you're about to vomit. +1 for Sam's gut.

I still have high hopes for Woolfolk at Safety, he flashed some talent there this past year...he can keep the spot warm for Parker so we don't have to rush him in...
