Several notable observations from the Sagarin Rankings.
I realize it is early but last week had Michigan #20 and #24 on Elo Chess (BCS uses later in season) and Predictor (claims to be the single best predictor of future games; uses margin of victory component and thus can't be used for BCS)
Michigan fell this week with a victory in both Elo Chess and Predictor to 32 and 31 putting us at 29 overall.
Michigan State comes out at 141 and 15. Yes 15 on the measure that is supposed to be the best predictor of future games. This is higher than ND which comes in at 57 and 17.
This doesn't make sense at all to me. What kind of a computer model is this. State lost to CMU at home and ND on the road and the Predictor is giving them a 15 overall ranking.
I assume this will work itself out and is just an anomoly, but wow. That is pretty crazy.
Oh, yeah and Penn State seems out of place as well rating in at 43 and 27 respectively.
I know it is early, but does this mean MSU will be favored over Michigan?
