They can take solace in not being the nation's lowest rated FBS team (that's New Mexico at 193). They are the lowest ranked BCS conference team, though, and Minnesota is 3rd lowest (Kansas takes silver).

I know they play a ton of tough teams but at some point you are what your record is, and they can't close out games.

IMO Sagarin's predictor ratings put WAY to much emphasis on blowouts.  It tends to overrate teams that blow out a bunch of mediocre teams.  That is why the BCS won't use it and will only use the ELO Chess, which ignores margin of victory.

What's up with the Big 12?  Are they really that good?  Nine of their teams are in the top 45 with only Kansas outside the top 50.  Also, 7 of their teams are in the top 10 for schedule strength.
