This is just horrible to hear. He was one of my favorite Michigan running backs and I did know about his mother but to hear she is getting worse is just terrible. My sympathies go out to his family and my prayers.

I've always loved Chris Perry. I can't imagine what he's going through, and will add him and his family to my prayers. This is the first thing that comes to mind whenever I think about him:

wow that's really sad. i have been a huge fan especially since the 51 carry game at MSU during my freshman year. I was there standing in a michigan jersey in the student section covered in shit (thanks spartan fans) when the game ended and he came over to the student section and took a bow. one of the most bad ass things i've ever seen, that plus the game he had definitely made him awesome in my book. sad to hear he's having such problems. good luck to him and his mom

When I saw the thread title saying he was arrested, I prayed it was posted by a troll or something. This is awful, he always demonstrated his love and respect for his mother. I can't imagine what he's going through, but I hope he gets through it as well as anyone could.

I have always loved Perry ever since he put on the winged helmet. He was a great player and I always hoped the success he had in college would find him again in the NFL. I had a friend who made a comment a few months ago about cancer. She was speaking of a mutual friend who had just passed away from the disease and we were naming others we knew who had passed away from it as well. She said "it isn't if you get cancer, it's when." I thought that to be an odd statement and quite jaded, but understandable given the circumstances. Her family has a history of mental illness and that statement made me wonder about her mental stability. In the months that have passed I have heard of many others developing the disease as well (as a Dr. in a small town I hear about most cases). My view on her statement has changed now. I don't think what she said is close to being true, but I can certainly see how someone can come to that conclusion with how prevelant the disease is. God bless Chris and his Mom.
