Saban known to handcuffs offensive coordinators

Submitted by TheTruth41 on

Interesting article quoting AJ McCarron as saying Saban handcuffs his offensive coordinators.  While he wasn't sure if this was the case in Alabama's last loss, while he was there Saban was known to do this (when Nussmeier was the OC).  May explain a bit more why the parting was more mutual than anything.

Not too far fetched to believe the same is happening under Hoke.

I haven't been paying too much attention, but it seems like Saban is letting Kiffin open up the playbook a bit this year. Saban is never really the type to want mobile QBs, and yet Blake Sims is your starter.

Again, I haven't paid much attention to formations and how much they're dabbling with the spread, but Saban seems like he's shredding that mantra a little bit this year.

Who gives a damn with hoke as the HC the offense will always stink. As much as people say Hoke does nothing on the sideline explain to me how the offense hasn't changed one bit with Nuss?

Why would Nuss leave 'Bama just to go somewhere else where the HC dictates how he calls the game?  I'm not buying it.  If Nuss left Saban to get away from the control freak, I'm sure he made certain he would be able to do his own thing at Michigan.

Sorry, you can't blame Hoke for everything.
