Saban complains about new camp rules
Will the hypocrisy ever end? Link
Artilce on ESPN that begins with Saban complaining to some reporter about being labeled a "ball control" offense, but ends with this money quote.
During his rant, Saban seemed quite displeased with new NCAA rules about high school camps.
"And we pass some rule that everybody has to live with, or some law, where the consequences mess up a lot of other things. We do it all the time. We're doing it right now. The NCAA is doing it. We're going to change the way we have summer camps. We can't have high school coaches working summer camps. I mean, it's the most ridiculous thing that I've ever seen. It is what it is and whatever they do, they do.
"So we say we don't want third-parties dealing with players. So we're not going to let the high school coach bring a guy to camp, but some third-party guy can bring him to camp now. Makes no sense at all. But all the people who have common sense, they don't say anything about it. But the people who scream the loudest will get the thing changed and it'll mess everything up. That's the way it goes. The way it goes in the world, politics, just the way it goes.".
How does that saying go... You made your bed, now you have to lay in it.

Water is wet, the sky is blue, Saban is a hypocritical douche wagon.

You had the potential for a great couplet there:
Water is wet, the sky is blue
Saban's a hypocrtiical douche canoe

....and pete is too!
Your welcome.

Damn.
Feel free to send that into Hallmark and make a profit. I won't even be mad.
You're right, it works as a Valentine's Day card!
Water is wet, the sky is blue
Saban's a hypocritical douche canoe
And I love you
I'm going to be rich!
"Hypocritical" seems redundant, considering the douche canoe in question. Fortunately, the poem scans better without that word. Viz.,
Water is wet
The sky is blue
Saban is
A douche canoe.

we play Bama in the playoffs this fall.
Hey boo,
Can I get in on this too?
When a well paid player decides to tattle
but to catch him and probably Smart as well - realize coaches are supposed to have limited involvement in this recruiting style, and Ole Miss is a good example - it'll take a "sting" operation where a hidden camera captures the exchange between player and bag man. Remember, bag men are the only ones that give out cash and each are assigned specific players. They'd have to capture both the exchange of cash and verbal proof of what's going on.
Now I suppose if a number of players came forward and admitted the wrong doings that have become common place down there, it would be a compelling argument, but I see no incentive for them to give up this tremendous benefit.
When he said "well paid player decides to tattle".
and I mean it.
Anybody want a peanut?
I wondered as to wherever the "canoe" had ended up...
I'd like to solve the puzzle: A Streetcar Naked Desire.
Evelyn Lin was awesome in that.
Oh...wait. Delete, delete!

Saban is such a whiny dick. Seriously dude, no matter how you did it, you came to dominate college football. Quit fucking bitching and just shut up...
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:43 PM ^
Complaining fuels Saban's soul.
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:47 PM ^
Saban has a soul? I'd like some evidence before I accept that premise.
when you're an advanced, robotic humanoid from the future.
NCAA = Skynet
he keeps it in a jar, on his desk....
I have it on good authority that it's in the coke bottle on his podium.
Soooooooooo....
Harbaugh actually cares about student athletes and tries to do things to make their lives better while building a winning football team and the media keeps bashing him.
Saban only cares about winning and is willing to bend or break every rule possible and complains about coaches trying to create an even playing field and then complains about all of it in the vain attempt to look like he cares about the athletes and the media praises him.
WTF is wrong with people???

The world made more sense before they changed the camp rules.
Now what conference pushed hard to change the camp rules again, Nick?
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:21 PM ^
I KNOW THE ANSWER!
Is what he's whining about really part of the camp changes that were directed at Harbaugh? I don't remember hearing that part and I wonder if this is part of the proposed change relating to hiring coaches of players. (Which is probably also aimed at Harbaugh, although it worked well for Kirby Smart).
I was unsure about. But to me, he spent all the time bitching about how unfair it was, and now he's still bitching about how the NCAA does what ever they want.
News Flash - You asked them to change the rule!
Here is the part I believe you missed. "We can't have high school coaches working summer camps. I mean, it's the most ridiculous thing that I've ever seen. It is what it is and whatever they do, they do."
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:21 PM ^
But the people who scream the loudest will get the thing changed and it'll mess everything up.
"the people" are a part of your conference, and I believe YOU were even a part of "the people".
what a wingwang
He is simultaneously the pot AND the kettle.
Bravo, douche!
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:22 PM ^
Coaches, third parties, etc. It doesn't matter what you call them. As long as they get paid, you'll continue to get good players. Don't worry, Nick.
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:22 PM ^
Finebaum: "Dont worry nicky, baby.. I'll make you feel better"
New headline from Pete: "Harbaugh-influenced Camp Rules Hurt Athletes, Other Programs"
Just Blame Harbaugh.

for 7 hours straight*
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:27 PM ^
The NCAA Is already on working on changing the rule to help St. Saban.
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:29 PM ^
You know, we all have people in our lives who bitch incessantly about various things and then when the rules and regulations do in fact change in the manner which they supposedly wanted - at least to a degree - they proceed to bitch about the consequences to them when logic would dictate that was the result they wanted.
I really, really, really hate those people. All of them.
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:34 PM ^
Saban has the Bama bagmen helping him sign the #1 recruiting class every year and he still has the audacity to bitch. He brought this on himself when he whined about Harbaugh's sateliite camps. Well these are the unintended consequnces of new rules. Seems like every off season this guy is whining about something.
March 22nd, 2017 at 12:46 PM ^
But tell us how you feel about Beileins coaching?
