Saban complains about new camp rules

Will the hypocrisy ever end? Link

Artilce on ESPN that begins with Saban complaining to some reporter about being labeled a "ball control" offense, but ends with this money quote.

During his rant, Saban seemed quite displeased with new NCAA rules about high school camps.

"And we pass some rule that everybody has to live with, or some law, where the consequences mess up a lot of other things. We do it all the time. We're doing it right now. The NCAA is doing it. We're going to change the way we have summer camps. We can't have high school coaches working summer camps. I mean, it's the most ridiculous thing that I've ever seen. It is what it is and whatever they do, they do.

"So we say we don't want third-parties dealing with players. So we're not going to let the high school coach bring a guy to camp, but some third-party guy can bring him to camp now. Makes no sense at all. But all the people who have common sense, they don't say anything about it. But the people who scream the loudest will get the thing changed and it'll mess everything up. That's the way it goes. The way it goes in the world, politics, just the way it goes.".

How does that saying go... You made your bed, now you have to lay in it.

but to catch him and probably Smart as well - realize coaches are supposed to have limited involvement in this recruiting style, and Ole Miss is a good example - it'll take a "sting" operation where a hidden camera captures the exchange between player and bag man. Remember, bag men are the only ones that give out cash and each are assigned specific players. They'd have to capture both the exchange of cash and verbal proof of what's going on.

Now I suppose if a number of players came forward and admitted the wrong doings that have become common place down there, it would be a compelling argument, but I see no incentive for them to give up this tremendous benefit.

Saban is such a whiny dick. Seriously dude, no matter how you did it, you came to dominate college football. Quit fucking bitching and just shut up...

Soooooooooo....
Harbaugh actually cares about student athletes and tries to do things to make their lives better while building a winning football team and the media keeps bashing him.

Saban only cares about winning and is willing to bend or break every rule possible and complains about coaches trying to create an even playing field and then complains about all of it in the vain attempt to look like he cares about the athletes and the media praises him.

WTF is wrong with people???

Is what he's whining about really part of the camp changes that were directed at Harbaugh? I don't remember hearing that part and I wonder if this is part of the proposed change relating to hiring coaches of players. (Which is probably also aimed at Harbaugh, although it worked well for Kirby Smart).

"the people" are a part of your conference, and I believe YOU were even a part of "the people".

Coaches, third parties, etc. It doesn't matter what you call them. As long as they get paid, you'll continue to get good players. Don't worry, Nick.

You know, we all have people in our lives who bitch incessantly about various things and then when the rules and regulations do in fact change in the manner which they supposedly wanted - at least to a degree - they proceed to bitch about the consequences to them when logic would dictate that was the result they wanted.

I really, really, really hate those people. All of them.

Saban has the Bama bagmen helping him sign the #1 recruiting class every year and he still has the audacity to bitch. He brought this on himself when he whined about Harbaugh's sateliite camps. Well these are the unintended consequnces of new rules. Seems like every off season this guy is whining about something.
