S Threet - ASU Spring Game info

Submitted by AZBlue on

I heard the local sports radio guys talking about the ASU spring game/scrimmage on my way home today. A few nuggets:

- Attendance approximately 6,000 (!!!)
- Defense Dominated game - only 1 TD scored
- Threet was 9 for 27 with 3 picks

Despite Threet's performance apparently there was no clear leader among the 2 ASU QBs - Osweiler (sp?) apparently was no better except for fewer picks. I am not sure who they have incoming as freshman for QB.

I hope Steven has better luck in the fall at ASU, but it seems that a curse of sorts is on him or any program associated with him - apparently the O-line is in shambles and they lost the bulk of their run game to graduation.

At least the "scenery" at ASU is much better than in Ann Arbor.

A lot of those players don't give a shit about football. either they are going to the league or they are partying with all that fine ass. Hard to run a program where its so fun. why do you think Notre Dame had been good for so long?

Also, ASU isn't a good team in general..

Any excuse to discuss the social significance of the shocker is a good one. You really can't say when the first one was administered in the history of man. There are some types of apes that are sexually creative, so this move could've been 100,000 years old. How old is a pitchfork?

Yes the ASU O-line has not been good recently. (I only watch games if I happen to catch 'em on TV.) However, apparently they also lost one of the returnees for 2010 to injury.

Slightly OT - the ASU sophomore LB, Vontaze Burfict, that Michigan tried to recruit from CA is a BEAST. Started 9 games and was #2 in tackles for ASU as a true Frosh - would have done at least the same for us. Not bad for the name-team either.

Ouch. A part of me wants to not care how he does but I just can't help it. Kid seems like a real trooper. Hopefully he can manage to have some success in his time there.

I've met Stevie a couple times and he is a really nice guy. He did a charity event on the diag where he sat in a dunk tank for a half hour and people paid a dollar to try and dunk him. He took a lot of flak for sitting there, but he was a really good sport about it and sat there with a smile the whole time. Best of luck to you at ASU stevie

I hope he does well, but I'm not looking forward to the sportscasters smugly pointing out how Coach Rod failed to properly utilize such a splendidly gifted quarterback.

..but that doesn't matter at QB. I think the only "curse" associated with him is his throwing motion. It's like watching the ghost of Dan Quisenberry. That works great in baseball, but not very well when throwing over linemen.
