Ryan Mallett is goofy looking but pretty good.

Already thrown three touchdowns in the first quarter. This kid is ridiculous. His bombs are right on the money every time. Also, we're all familiar for this, but he was sacked, fumbled, and the other team recovered.

Not gonna lie, it really hurts to watch his be awesome. We used the ex-girlfriend analogy last week; I agree we're better off with Tate and RichRod, but DAYUM, I wish we could have squeezed in the Mallett era before starting the RichRod/Tate era.

that we wouldn't play him if we had the choice between him and Tate based on Tate's speed and off Mallett's size and lack of speed. I would've preferred to have Mallett last season over our so called "QBs", though. Mallett made the right choice to go to Arkansas, though. I wish him luck. I think with his rare size and big arm, he could be a legit NFL draft possibility.

Crap. I was incredibly ambiguous on that. My bad. I meant that chances we'll play Arkansas are slim, so I wish him luck because his good fortune now doesn't equal bad fortune for us. If we ever play Arkansas, I'll obviously hope he plays a terrible game, but until then I hope he plays well.

what a cannon he's got. Who knows, he might have also grown up a little. It's all good though, the new "girlfriend" is a Superfreak, and she doesn't mind sharing with a friend now and then.

With less awesomeness for reasons of character and being fumblelina, he looks alot like one Mr.Henne. Mallet has some kind of cannon for a right arm and it isn't hard to see why he and Jimmah were so similarly (very highly) rated coming out of HS. I still wish him diarrhea though.

Well.. Forcier could've broken the 4 TD single game record in his first game here.. but you'd expect that feat to be much more difficult vs Georgia than WMU.. However.. this topic makes me think about that game.. Maybe Coach Rod decided to replace Forcier with Coner and Sheridan on the last two red-zone drives because he didn't want him to come in and equal/break a record in his first game as a true frosh.. His ego would've been colossal after that.. I know mine would be..

Mallet showed why he would not fit into this team when he decided to slide short of the first down inside the ten yard line on third down - down 11 - in the 4th quarter. There appeared to be at least a small chance he could have bulled his way to the sticks. I can not see Tate or Denard going down without a fight. The look on Petrino's face was priceless. However, the kid definitely has some talent and appears that he would have been a perfect Lloydball QB. I hope he's happy at Arkansas.

Mallet left because RichRod was pursuing Pryor. It was a good career move, given what he knew at the time. But it could have worked for us. RichRod could have tweaked his system to fit Mallet. It would have been more like the offense Texas Tech runs, or at least had some similarities to it. If that had happened, we might have been able to hold on to Arrington, and would probably have gone 7-5 or so last year. But then we would have had to hold off on rebuilding the program like we are now, and the success we've had so far shows that we're on the right path. RichRod is building a team that should be good for years. If we'd changed things around for Mallet, we might have saved ourselves from last year's horror, but also might have made that rebuilding process take longer...

I was excited to watch this game last night. I love that Mallet is looking so good and it seems as if his career at Arkansas will be pretty successful. I know he wouldn't have worked out at Michigan and I'm glad he found a place where he fits in. Good for him.

It's possible that we are both ultimately better off with Mallett transferring. While he looked pretty good out there, he probably needed time to mature and develop his football skills. If Tate gets more reps, we're better prepared for the future.
