mlbtraderumors.com is now reporting that, not unexpectedly, that Ryan Lamarre has signed a contract with the Reds.

He's headed to Dayton for single A, for those interested and in the area.
That's saying a lot about him being sent to A-ball already. Normally they start out in the rookie league or advanced rookie league. The Reds obviously think a lot of Ryan to skip two levels and send him straight to Dayton.
Not totally unusual for top 2-3 round draft picks, especially the ones out of college. I'm surprised they pushed him up that high though, more because of his history with wood bats. I would have assume he goes to short season to get comfortable.
Anyone who's interested should have plenty of opportunities to see Lamarre play in the Midwest League. I'll probably catch a couple games when they play the West Michigan Whitecaps.
