Per his twitter
just what the Pistons need: a third string center. Joe Dumars was replaced by a mean ol' alien a few years back you guys.

Congratulations to Ryan Van Bergen. He will be a great addition to the Panthers. Always, Go Blue!

Ryan Van Bergen @VanBergen53
I got my call and officially announce i will be signing w the carolina panthers as a free agent! Grateful for the opportunity
Congrats! HE will be a great addition to any team, Go BLUE!
A buckeye is nothing but a hair-less NUT!
Didn't take long...
I'd like to know where Koger and Woolfolk go as well!
“True loyalty is that quality of service that grows under adversity and expands in defeat. Any street urchin can shout applause in victory, but it takes character to stand fast in defeat. One is noise — the other, loyalty.”
I just did a search on twitter for Van Bergen to find his page, but instead saw all the other people talking about him. Apparently a lot of Steelers fans wanted him, and it sounds like there are quite a few fans of a variety of teams disappointed that he signed so fast. Good for him! Glad to see all his dedication and hard work paying off.
First UDFA signing, correct?
The thought of a 6'6 288lb defenseman scares the shit out of me as a forward. That is, of course, if he could move (I'm guessing no); still, if he could line you up it'd be over for you.
Anyway, congrats to RVB. He deserves all the good things soon to come to him.

He deserves the opportunity and I'm sure he'll make the most of it.
Love the kid, he'll make good with his shot to make a 53 man roster.
Blank.....Blank......You're not looking at the big picture here.
was quick.. I guess being a rookie free agent has it's benifiets also. I am very happy for him, and they are not world beaters on defense so that is great for him to get a chance to play early in his career with the Panthers. I actually can't name one D- lineman they have since Peppers left.
21 years of coaching and every senior who stayed had at least 1 big ten title... That is what " Those who stay will be champions" will really get you Ohio native Bo Schembechler.
this pains me as a bucs fan, but I will always root for RVB. congrats to him.

Good deal and he's definitely going to a franchise back on the rise with a young phenom in Newton. He should get a good look on the d line.
If I say a duck can pull a truck, shut up and hook the sucka up!
Could really see RVB having a solid 10 year career

So glad to hear this, especially since he was injured leading into the combine. Congrats RVB a Michigan Man through and through
"The goal, the expectation of this program is the Big Ten Championship"
I really think he would have been drafted in one of the late rounds had he not been injured. I suspect injury had something to do with Molk getting drafted as late as he was too. They were instrumental in team 132's success, and I will never forget how they toughed it out, despite their injuries, to help win the Sugar Bowl.
I'm more than excited for this signing!! I was pulling for them to take Martin and/or Hemmingway, but I'll happily take anyone from Team 132
Congrats, Always good to see Michigan players getting their dream chance in the NFL. good luck to him. Go Blue
Woot! How many players from other big ten teams got drafted just curious?
