Is Rutgers the worst big ten team ever?

Yeah they have two wins but one of them was against a bad FCS team and they lost to Ohio State 58-0, Michigan 78-0, and are down 49-0 to 2-7 Michigan State.

The 2007 Gophers were horrendously bad. 1-11 with their only win in 3OT over Miami (NTM). This Rutgers team is up there with them, though. I'd watch the shit out of that theoretical matchup.

I don't know, because I'm too lazy to look up Minnesota's scores that year, but getting blanked 3 times by a margin of 185-0 is atrocious.

it looks like Minnesota also had three 1-point losses and three more 1-possession losses. pretty terrible, but seems they were at least competitive in half their games.

...I nominate the 1973 Chicago Maroons. They played 7 games, lost 6 (5 were shutouts) and tied 1, and the tie was against Wheaton College's JV team.

Which wasn't the only JV team their varsity played--they lost 43-0 to the Valpo JV squad.

1981 Northwestern went 0-11; scored 82 pts while giving up 505.

They were shut out in five games, the worst was 0-64 to Iowa.

Northwestern had not won a conference game since 1977.
