or Johnson park, across the street on the south. I looked it up because I had nothing better to do, so you should find some fun in either of those locations.

Michigan fans will take over Johnson Park starting at noon. There is no rush to get there. No lines like at AAGO. Rutgers fans show up very late and they are dominated by the Michigan tailgaters.

opens at Noon? I don't see a time listed on their website.

I just talked with the Park Director. They will open at 2 PM on Saturday. Two years ago we were able to get in at noon because they are not affialted with the University. Evidently, they have changed their policies.

Wow we blow their doors off on the field AND crush them tailgating outside their stadium? THE MICHIGAN DIFFERENCE!

my understanding is that the lots close to the stadium are for season ticket holders only. i plan to search for non-rutgers university lot, and to leave time to do so. there will be a significant number of michigan fans at this game. tailgate with any of us!

Thats true. All the lots close to the stadium are permit only. The non-permit gameday parking lot is by their basketball arena and is a shuttle ride away from the football stadium. I think there are some non-rutgers affiliated parking closer to the stadium but not sure where or how big they are.

there were plenty of spots close to the stadium. we ended up in a huge field with hundreds of tailgaiters.

I've taken NJ transit down to the Rutgers campus 5-10 times. I think all the campus buses are just outside the train station by the bookstore. I'd guess the shuttle would be there too. It's hard to miss.
Worst case scenario, it's like a 2 mile walk to the stadium from the train. Not exactly short but not ridiculous unless you're carrying a bunch of stuff.

NJ Transit is from Penn Station, not Grand Central, just to make sure you look for your train from the right place. I took it last time and the bus was pretty easy to navigate, as I recall. Post game too.

Going from Penn to New Brunswick on NJ Transit. Bunch of us will be on the 2:15pm train. It says its about an hour ride and there's a bunch of places near the station to get beer and snacks before hoping on the shuttle. Glad to hear positives about previous experieinces on the train.

We're planning to take NJ Transit too. Does anyone have an opinion on whether we should buy tickets in advance or try to get them when we arrive?

I am going to try to tailgate at Johnson Park. I believe it is $45 to park though. Beats standing in line for a shuttle back to the car after the game. Remember, Rutger's fans plan to stripe the field. Odd sections are wearing black, even sections are wearing red. I think it make sense to wear maize in the black sections and blue in the red sections, but maize will probably work in the red sections too. Anyone recall how many Michigan fans were at the 2014 game? Could this year be close to a 50/50 split?
