Rushing the court
Obviously this topic has been beaten to the ground. I just wanted to suggest that if, and it is a big IF (knock on wood and do any other good luck ritual), we beat MSU next week, the students should refrain from rushing the court. I would find that quite funny.

Listen, you can talk about this topic until you're blue in the face, you're not changing my mind.

That would be a nice kick in the balls to them. Especially if they understood why.
January 18th, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
Not sure that they would understand, but it would be a nice kick in the balls either way.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:41 PM ^
But if they didn't feel it, would that be because they do not have balls, or because they are too dumb to feel things?

Rush court only if wearing ski masks.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
Let us rush the court donning ski masks
Edit: Beaten to it...

This is actually an interesting idea. Nothing would anger Sparty more than the sight of everyone casually walking towards the exit.

order of Spartan irritation
charity potlucks > Michigan success > Braylon Edwards > Ed Hightower > Hitler > Puppies not dressed as cats

If it happens, we know Drew Sharp will write an article about how classless Michigan is. Well, the only way Michigan will win is if MSU plays passively.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
I was discussing this with some other friends who are also out of state students. Whenever we are not in Michigan, we never hear anything about Michigan State. One of my friends suggested that not rushing the court would be a great way to celebrate how irrelevant they are.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
I would love to see it.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:24 PM ^
Except that aren't irrelevant in basketball in any way, shape, or form.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
As a team yes, but from a national media standpoint, not really. They are not the national brand that Michigan is.
January 18th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
I am from out-of-state, and no one really ever talks about them. Their basketball team is good, yes. But their national cachet is actually not as high as it should be, in my opinion, given how good they are at basketball. As has been said on this board, they simply are not a national brand. We are. (Although we shouldn't take that for granted- we need to get our bball and especially our football program back to perennial top-10 rankings.)
January 18th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
I think it would be better to just turn our backs and leave without caring about them, imo that would be read as some kind of you're not enough for us to even bother to celebrate we beat you...
January 18th, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
If Michigan beats MSU, I'm going to find a court somewhere near me, strip to my underwear, and RUSH THE FUCKING COURT!
January 18th, 2010 at 10:45 PM ^
How about body suits?
January 18th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
Maybe, but all that counts is you find a court, any court and RUSH THE FUCK OUT OF IT! I promise you, the judge will probably be a Michigan law grad if you do it in Oakland county and thus you should get off with just a misdemeanor.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:06 AM ^
I was thinking more of the lines similar to when george constanza streaked Yankee stadium wearing a body suit.
January 19th, 2010 at 1:19 AM ^
body massages?
January 18th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
go to games to have fun watching their team and cheer to express that, not as a coordinated attack on another school they are obsessed with
January 18th, 2010 at 10:34 PM ^
Does it involve ski masks?
January 18th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
a michigan state fan makes fun of M football for the ed martin scandal
doesn't that sound silly
January 18th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
Agree with everything other than the claim of obsession. The only reason I would be in favor of some coordinated effort is because MSU fans have gone out of their way recently in order to provoke UM fans, and it would be nice to return the favor.

so you're saying the only way to show sparty is to stoop to their level?
January 18th, 2010 at 10:42 PM ^
If MICH leads at halftime, we should rush the court. Unless the lady on the unicycle is there to flip bowls on her head. If she is, rush the court after she gets the 7th bowl on her head. That shit is awesome.
January 19th, 2010 at 5:05 AM ^
That was the best halftime show ever without a doubt.
January 18th, 2010 at 11:12 PM ^
Okay, if anyone currently in the Maize Rage is reading, coordinate it so that we ignore them and calmly walk away once we win.
I vote for this. With, or without, ski masks.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:49 AM ^
It's like we are stuck in some space/time loop here. My God it is going to be a long offseason.

Storming the court after the UConn win seemed more like a spontaneous response to the storm of emotions representing this year's disappointing football, basketball and hockey seasons.
I'm not sure what each person's criteria is for "storming" a court or a field, but if anyone storms Crisler's court, I hope it's WE and not THEY: http://www.spartantailgate.com/forums/msu-red-cedar-message-board/42476…
