Rumors from a random Reddit user.

Submitted by MGoBlueRidge on

A random user on Reddit's /r/CFB claims to have a family member high up at MSU who has a relative in the Michigan AD. Says that Harbaugh will be announced on the 29th and at the basketball game on the 30th. Seems to just be a rehash of already well assumed rumors, but figured it would be at least something to pass the time away as we recover from all the Christmas cookies and family overload this evening. Here is the post on Reddit.

Uncle lives across the street from an assistant in the athletic department and has gotten the same cryptic info. The dude he talked to can't and won't give him any specific info - nothing more than "fans will be happy once the 49ers season is done" type o' shit.

Everyone I've talked to that has even a slight connection to UofM administration thinks it's happening, but it seems to be semi-blind optimism from most of them.

The only person against it so far has nothing credible and simply insists that JH wouldn't leave the NFL for college because it's a "step down".

I could be wrong as well, but when is it a step down when~

1. You get a raise in the millions

2. Coach your Alma Mater

3. It's Michigan

NFL needs to ask themselves which came first College Football or the Pro Football? I think we all know it was college and I personally watch way more college football than Pro Football, I see no step down on this one. I see a great coach returning to his Alma Mater because its Michigan Football. A great opportunity to return his Alma Mater to where it was before the coaching carousel began in 2007. NFL will likely draft some great players from Michigan that Harbaugh coaches. I just don't see the step down. If it wasn't for College there would be no Pro.

I am pretty sure this rumor has made it to the board from other sources a few times already, but I personally will wait until we hear from the person who in fact saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. That is, unless we already have and I missed that thread, in which case someone please refresh my memory and report the title of that thread, if possible.

Enough with all the rumors! I went to the ultimate source to lay this whole matter to rest.

"Magic 8-ball, will Jim Harbaugh be the next coach at Michigan?"

"sources say yes"

... well fuck even the 8-ball is using sources for this.

It's really comforting to know that other people obsess about shit like this as much as I do. I guess that makes me normal, right??

Would normally be at Crisler but visiting me sainted mother in Florida! Wonder if she'll mind if I cancel?

So is this what all the video equipment is for?  A live feed from California?

Normally I would automatically discard anything coming from Reddit, as it's a site filled with sexless losers. However, many of the things reported over there have been similar to things I've heard through the grapevine during this ordeal. They seem somewhat credible.
