Rumor: We are already dead and nothing is real

I just read on the Rivals board that this world, what we believe to be reality, is actually the constructed reverberations of our final memories and imaginations as our brain slips slowly into deep, dark and everlasting death. Did anybody else see this? Can anyone confirm?

Mr. Rogers as your avatar brings me back to when I was a little kid.

Even looking it up on youtube, I still can't get through that show he did talking about divorce without coming close to if not crying.

If no one has mention this. The rumor is as old as Descarts. I think that is the right spelling.  His answer to this was "I think, therefore I am." Pretty dumb stuff it seems to me but I remember that from my Philosophy class over 40 years ago.  That is even stranger!
