Rumor: We are already dead and nothing is real

Submitted by JBE on
I just read on the Rivals board that this world, what we believe to be reality, is actually the constructed reverberations of our final memories and imaginations as our brain slips slowly into deep, dark and everlasting death. Did anybody else see this? Can anyone confirm?

The UM football team goes this rumor is actually fact. Been dead for years. Murdered by a guy named Tressel. Apparently Tressel drove a stake thru the heart of the UM Football program a total of 9 times, of course it was actually dead after about the 3rd. It has also been Documented that long after the death that an accomplice named Meyer has spent the last few years pissing, shitting, and abusing the dead program. Much has been attempted to revive it, but do to the brutal and ruthless treatment by these two men it seems nothing will ever bring it back, not even a quack. So yes, dead indeed.

I heard that we're all just brains in vats. Have yet to confirm, though. Not sure how to contact other BIVs or if my communication attempts are just aimed at myself.

As Albert Einstein once said, "Don't believe every quote you read on the internet, because I totally didn't say that."

Today would have been Einstein's 135th birthday, and to celebrate, we have nine quotes incorrectly attributed to Einstein that you may have seen swirling around the internet lately. They're all fake.

1. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Einstein never said that. And neither did Benny Franklin. Salon has a good round-up of people using this quote in various political contexts, because politicians really love this quote. The Ultimate Quotable Einstein traces the quote to Rita Mae Brown's 1983 book Sudden Death, but it's almost certainly older than that. Also, that's not the definition of insanity.
