Broadus was a late add after they had missed out on some other WR targets, I think they knew they were gambling as to whether his commitment would actually play out.

Clark was also a bit of a late add when Alize Jones got his head turned by his best friend in High School going to Notre Dame.  He also had mono to start off camp and didn't really get in the swing of things and had a notable incident when he showed up late to practice in street clothes and messing on his phone, Mora took great exception to this as any coach would and went after him.  If he's homesick and needs some time to figure things out before classes start then why not let him go home and see if he can get right?  You don't lose anything and if he comes back you have a refocused and talented player.  If he doesn't then what do you gain by forcing him to stay on campus when he can pretty easily pull the transfer pin on the grenade.

UCLA's fall camp is held in San Bernadino, where it is uncomfortably hot and I think he does this to get guys ready for the season as well as introducing the freshmen to life with UCLA.  So far it seems to be working and if it ends up scaring off some guys then so be it.  There are still a lot of REALLY good players left from that class, several of whom got in the game last Saturday and this years class is shaping up to be pretty good, too.  We'll see what happens but two high profile incidents with later additions to a class do not a narrative make.

i saw something in the article that was out when people were talking about mora not being so nice to rosen, that a reporter heard him say to chris clark that he would pay for the plane tickets home or something along those lines...

There are lots of reasons someone might go home - a death in the family, a serious illness, etc.

That being said, Clark switched schools (and favorites) willy nilly and if he's "transferring" after one game, I'm not sure that Michigan would be the best place for him.

Let's...I dunno....see what's actually going on before jumping to conclusions?

Thus far we know that he was at home (a college kid visiting home? How awful!) and that he was having some difficulties.

I see zero hard evidence of anything else. There's speculation by an SB Nation writer and that's about it.

What I found more curious is that he played in their first game while recovering from mono. He had barely practiced. Maybe he's just that good. Maybe it was an attempt to placate a homesick player.

He had to know that tweeting about how good it is to be home (all the way on the otherside of the country) at this time would draw a LOT of attention...but then he deletes it....not smart.

I also imagine that his teammates are not too thrilled with this...

If he's been unhappy and homesick, I'm fairly sure most of his teammates probably don't care. I don't mean that cruelly, but I'm guessing if it's the case that he's having trouble adjusting, he probably hasn't bonded with his teammates all that well yet. Accordingly, I bet most of them don't really pay attention to what he posts on Twitter.

I thought we all took a double secret pact not to talk about Chris Clark anymore? Why don't we just change the title of this thread to "The Girl you Dated a few times now having troubles with new boyfriend"

Clark is the guy who said that if it had been a purely football decision, he would have went to Michigan right?

I don't fault anyone who has lived in the cold for wanting to live in SoCal, but he doesn't really seem like the type of guy that would do well under Harbaugh. Who knows though, maybe he transfers and we will get to see. He's a talented guy from the looks of it.

I don't necessarily disagree with this sentiment, but I would say that a huge percentage of blue chip recruit 18 year olds are at least a little like this. As important as a year or two of seasoning physically is, even the "blue collar" types need a year or two to get accustomed to the demands of life a major college football player.

Anyway, I'm not waiting with bated breath to find out if he's looking into Michigan again, but I wouldn't write him off as a distraction if he did end up in Ann Arbor.

I love him, now I hate him, wait maybe there is a chance? I still love him, no way he picked a team that wasn't coming off a 5-7 campaign? No but is there a chance? Please pick us.

Jeez... Just hope the kid plays well. Here or anywhere else.

Clark awhile back during fall camp;

"I'll drive you to the airport and you can transfer to Rutgers or a junior college."

He was also heard yelling at Josh Rosen, too, so probably coach stuff, but maybe the Clark quote had some legs to it.

I'm sure Rutgers would love it.

This guy has Prima Donna written all over him. I live here in LA and all you hear about him is that he's hurt, he's got mono, he's scouting for chicks, dude needs to stay away from Ann Arbor

I don't think we want a guy who would leave UCLA after not even a half a season.  He'd probably do the sam thing here.  I don't think guys who quit quickly or easily are a good fit for Harbaugh's program.  I hope for his own sake he sticks it out at UCLA.
