MGJS SuperKick Party

I just signed on to twitter and saw my Sparty co workers celebrating it, I sign on here and have seen nothing but well wishes... Actually he claims he is disgusted because we cheered when Stanton was hurt.
Obviously, I want him to be healthy every week, and do his best every week but one. I hope he recovers quick, and hopefully can have a great NFL career.

his freshman year when he was playing us and running around the big house.  i knew he was a wild card with throws, but man you could see the talent, big time.   would much prefer to play them at full strength in columbus, no excuses, may he best team win.   if he's not had a red shirt, assumedly he can come to A2 next year and play his final game at the big house.   now that would be a fine resolution to this unfortunate injury.

Obviously there's zippo for data/detail.  My impression, however, would be that something like this would be an issue all season.

Stinks for OSU as their offense really is going to rely on him.  Sure they have a lot of toys, but they're quite diminished if the QB isn't good.  In contrast, they'd have been able to deal with it better last year with a grade A line and running back.

Feel bad for the kid. Hopefully, he can rehab and pursue his NFL dream.

Do not feel bad for Bucknuts...as said above...they loved kicking us when we were down. On paper, they could be in for a rough season.

It says it puts his playing status in question. What does that mean?

Does it mean the first game or the year? It can be taken either way. I don't think they know the extent of the injury.

Okay, a request for full disclosure amid the many classy posts in this thread:

What was your honest emotional response to seeing this?  I'm talking about the first thing that went through your mind/body.

If I'm honest, mine was pleasant surprise.  I'm not proud of that, but any "Man, that's a shame" from me is really forced.  I hope the guy has a great life... and that I never see him in an OSU uniform again.

I was gleeful for the pain I hope OSU fans will feel.  Total warm fuzzies.

I also honestly felt really sorry for the kid. Who knows what kind of pressure he's been under from the OSU industrial complex to "get healthy"  and win that Heisman.  I understand that athletes at this level know that type of scrutiny is part of the deal, but still, it must really suck to be him tonight.

But I'm mostly waiting for someone to GIF that crying Brazilian kid from the World Cup and photo shop OSU gear all over him. I will play that shit on endless loop...

Bingo, Turd Ferguson. People are lying or just pretending to be nice when they say it's a shame. Fuck Ohio State. I want them to suck this year and I don't feel badly for their fans or anyone else involved with that program. They have been so spoiled since Tressel got there and even more with Meyer. They can piss off. If beating Ohio State means it is because Miller didn't play, I'll take it. You take wins any way you can get them, especially against rivals.

Honest thought.... Tough break for the kid. At the same time I just want to see Meyer have to face adversity when it comes I a depth chart. The man walked into a great situation and has made the best of it.

He's like the Phil Jackson of college football. Now I'm curious to see what he will do with a potentially (now) average offense and an above average defense. Will he succeed? Or will Espn make 1,000 excuses for him come seasons end. Other coaches (Fitz, Dantonio, possibly Hoke) have done more with less when it comes to a lack experience and depth. What will the '14-15 nuts look like under Meyer and a now young, relatively inexperienced offense?

Also pleasant surprise, but I do genuinely wish the injury had been something that would keep him out through The Game and then he could fully recover from (like Denard's forearm nerve thing, for example), rather than something that could effectively end his career.

expect him to rehab as much as possible and return maybe late in the season. He has 12 weeks to heal before The Game and still get a little rust off. Wish him well ... until Frank chases him off the edge.

It's going to be ugly...it's going to full of excuses from other teams because they won't be full strength...but in the end, it's going to happen!

I have no doubt that Meyer will rival Izzo in the excuse making. He'll also lay blame on the team if their season goes completely south and ESPN will exclaim how great of a man he is for being willing to coach such incompetents.  Just watch.

There are way too many question marks left on UM's team to assume misfortune ona few other teams will vault them to undefeated status. I had 9 - 3 with 1 of 3 vs the rivals. Odds have improved vs. two of them, but its a bit premature to put UM at 12 - 0. Sparty was and still is the toughest game on the schedule and OH & ND aren't done.

I go run five miles and come back to this. I am sure he will be back for The Game if not sooner.
