Rudock gets the Harbaugh "pump up" treatment

Submitted by Dawkins on

This occured in between our dud opening drive and our first scoring driving in which Rudock completed the long pass to Darboh and the double-fake throw over the middle to Khalid Hill.

I wonder if this technique would work equally well in an office environment before a big meeting.

Then again, they have what they apparently seemed to want all along, or at least 49ers management if not the fans and players - the considered, thoughful mutterings of Jim Tomsula, best known for his one-on-one interviews that leave broadcasters wondering what it would be like to just go with dead air for five minutes.

The Harbaugh magic touch.  Works in football.  Would get you slapped with a harrassment suit if done in the office.

when the H-back trapped the NT?  In the video imbed, it is the first play we run after Harbaugh is banging on Rudock's pads.   We ran it a couple of times and got some nice chunks of yardage.  Just curious.

The more I watched those gifs from the OP, the more I gain from this technique. He is 1) showing confidence in his chosen QB, 2) verbalizing his excitement at what the QB is about to accomplish, 3) displaying his confidence in the leader of the offense to the rest of the team, 4) engaging the QB physically by sort of waking up his body, 5) creating a feeling of toughness in the QB by banging his "armor." The list just keeps growing, but there is something very special about this. Thanks for sharing

A shriek rang out during the chest pounding and she wasn't wearing shoulder pads. My parole ends next year.

Some things Harbaugh just work for Jim, apparently.
