Rudock gets the Harbaugh "pump up" treatment

Submitted by Dawkins on

This occured in between our dud opening drive and our first scoring driving in which Rudock completed the long pass to Darboh and the double-fake throw over the middle to Khalid Hill.

I wonder if this technique would work equally well in an office environment before a big meeting.

I think he threw for more yards in INTs than TDs the past 2 weeks lol.

49ers media sure miss Harbaugh, that's for sure.

I'm also positive that one Oline guy who thought Harbaugh was annoying and clinically insane is regretting not having him around now.

Somehow the 49ers fans are trying to blame Harbaugh for their current struggles.

C'mon guys, sour grapes much?

Michigan fans are very familiar with the heartbreak of forcing/encouraging an outstanding athletic quarterback with limitations as a passer to play under center. Tomsula should definitely hire on Borges as a QB consultant to help Kaepernick figure it out; not a big deal since he could just drive over from San Jose.

Why poor Shane? Why not poor Speight, or poor Malzone, or poor Gentry? Every one of those guys has the opportunity to go out and earn the job and steal it from Rudock. I don't understand this mentality that Shane was somehow entitled to start for Michigan because a recruiting service (erroneously) put 5 stars next to his name back in 2012.

Harbaugh obviously sees enough in Shane to redshirt him this year.  To me, that speaks volumes about his talent level.  Harbaugh knows Morris didn't get the coaching he needed and was in a terrible situation.  We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, but I am banking on a very good Shane Morris by next season.

That being said, I won't be surprised if Brandon Peters wins the job next year.

makes quarterbacks. He turned Alex Smith and Kapernik into a winner and not even the folks in 49er land believed in this transformation. He beat Cam Newton in Charlotte in a playoff game. Nobody beats Cam Newton at home in any game. Not Brady, not Rodgers, not Luck.  And Wison won't.

Oh, what tales we weave when we seek to deceive and take the pressure off our heads to make the York family seem only dreadful instead of inept for challenging greatness and professionalism as a personality issue and then hiring a one hit wonder lost in space to lead a super bowl chase to nowhere. Yed Jork we salute ye!

Hoke tried to get a timeout so Gardner wouldn't have to miss a play. The ref mistakenly told him that Gardner would still have to miss one. As others pointed out, they tried to send Bellomy in and he couldn't find his helmet. Bad enough that refs blow so many calls. They should at least know the rulebook.

I don't think any of the Hoke QB recruits will ever start for us after this year, and only this year if Rudock gets injured.  Harbaugh's recruits are waiting in the wings, and they have the qualities that JH is looking for to run his offense: smart with good size and good zip on the ball with accuracy, with the ability to scramble if necessary.  Shane hasn't shown the ability to manage the game without turnovers, perhaps unfairly, but guys like O'Korn and Gentry are waiting in the wings; and Peters and Viramontes will be in the mix too, although it sounds like Viramontes is the kind of athlete who could switch positions fairly easily.

I think Shane should be looking around for a good transfer opportunity, given that it looks like they're going to redshirt him as long as Rudock stays healthy.

Shane is smart.  Shane can put zip on the ball.  Shane is quite mobile.  Shane has good size.

He's a guy Harbaugh would have recruited.

I would not write him off just yet until he's had some quality Harbaugh coaching under his belt.  Somebody has to start next year, why not Shane?

fight for the opportunity. At Michigan, you earn it. And that is what Bo always preached. You may not win every game, but those who stay will be champions and competition and team respect and belief is the way home. Learn that lesson, you will succeed anywhere. It was Bo's first and last message because it endures forever

Appears to work.  Must have some secret mojo embedded in there somewhere.  But if he has to do that each week for solid QB play, I'm okay with it.  I think the thing to take away from this is that Jake took it correctly (as motivation).
