What if Arizona wins the PAC 12, Missouri wins the SEC, Baylor wins the Big XII, and Wisconsin wins the B1G? Will that finally convince people that recruiting rankings don't matter and that it's all in good coaching?

Stop with the revisionist history.  Most of the fans here were all for Rich Rod until he proved he could field a defense or win a game in the big 10.  It wasn't like he was doing well here.  The only argument is that we fired him too soon before we could see if he would get better.  Get real guys.

It just wasn't working here. Let me point you to the defense in his years and his losing record to Purdue. He is still a good coach. Just not here. Many good coaches (I.e. Pete Carroll) don't work out everywhere.

We get fucking point, He defesen was bad when he have DC that doesnt have chemistry with his assistant, Two Look at Arizona, Run same BS defesne of what your saying heading into a conference title game. Wow. If he would have his own DC, This whole talk would never occur.

Where is Brady Hoke and Michigan At. No where, sitting at 5-6, Michigan Fan got to be fucking piss right now to see RR heading to a Conference title game.

That's one of the biggest problems. He only had 3 years. That reflects very poorly on U of M. You have to give coaches longer than 3 years and especially guys with the track record of RR. I mean that is without even taking into consideration the fact that RR inherited a poor roster and was installing an entirely new system. It obviously was a much, much longer rebuild than 3 years.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I agree with what another poster said in that RR learned a lot at Michigan. I never disliked the guy, much like I don't dislike Hoke. Problem is, both failed at Michigan.

What he did at Arizona is something that michigan will never achieve. He beat his Rival for the first time, He got Arizona to win it first 10 game since 1998, First ever Divison Title and First time ever in conference championship game. While at michigan, You only care about your freaking pride and your diginty of what michigan is. Right now hoke leading the ship 5-6 with No divison title or a conference since he been the coach and since he be praising those word. It does hurt to see a former coach winnning while other failing.

I realize that your knowledge of the Michigan, the Big Ten and its history might not be completely up to speed, but I would hope you would delve into that history a little more before making statements like this. Granted, Hoke's record against our rivals is not impressive, but we have beaten them plenty of times over the passage of time, thank you. Of course, the problem has been doing this consistently (or frequently) lately.

I'd rather focus on who we should get as head coach in 2014 than mgoblog's favorite topic of arguing over whether we should have let RR go in 2010. We weren't good at all from 2008 to 2010 besides against ND. I support RR and Hoke with their future pursuits but this is just stupid. It's done and we should focus on who we're getting as a head coach in 2014.

Even RR would agree that the Michigan experience hardened him as one can noticed that Jeff Casteel is in AZ, and Tony Gibson is not.

I wish RR the best.  Beat the Ducks.
