RR vs Harbaugh
I thought it was interesting to see the path Harbaugh has been taking at Stanford as far as the W/L column goes. First season 4-8, second season 5-7, and this season 6-3 so far. Now, Stanford football isn't Michigan football, but RR did have a lot of attrition so the talent he has had to work with may not be that far off compared to what JIm's had in Cali. Also, I'm not sure what offense was installed at Stanford before Harbaugh arrived, and whether or not he had to "revamp the system" as RR is doing here.
I just thought this was a little interesting, because I've heard Harbaugh mentioned as a possible candidate for HC here if RR doesn't pan out in the next couple of years.
Thoughts?

Yeah. And Harbaugh's dad was a coach. I think he was real good. His brother is a coach in the NFL so, like, that should help recruiting.

I don't even have anything remotely clever left for theads like these. I think I've used up every sarcastic response I have left. I guess it's just time to start drinking.

Midnight tonight. We get it out of our system then, like Brian, move on.
(Alas, I'll have to create a new ID after the negbombing but that's a small price to pay.)

out on Harbaugh for all of the bridges he burned down back in Washtenaw County. He's not coming to Michigan ever.

I will second that.

since 2001, people there are pretty patient. Harbaugh has done a solid job; he's probably not going to be a candidate here; see this thread.

No thanks.

After all those negative comments he made about the athletics department? No way, Jose.

Harbaugh????????????????????????????

called his Fr. QB the best quarterback he's ever seen.....and there isn't much evidence to refute that.

defensive mind. Ummm...not so much.
Was he trying to sabotage his alma mater?

lol... have you seen Syracuse's D this season?
After 10 weeks, they've improved in every defensive category while facing a tougher schedule.

I have a very good understanding of Jim. He was a DICK when we were in school. He was a DICK to the girl he eventually married and ultimately divorced. He is a DICK to his alma mater.
Not that it would ever happen, but if Michigan ever opened the coaching door to him, I will be on indefinite wolverine leave-of-absence.

I don't know much for sure but I know this....Jim Harbaugh is NEVER going to be the coach at Michigan. That dude is a freaking serial arsonist when it comes to burning bridges.

Provided that he removed his left nut first.

When you call out the athletic AND academic centers of your alma mater, you might have a hard time ever getting a job there.
Furthermore, and I have no evidence of this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there might be some recruiting-related inquiries in the future for Harbaugh at Stanford, much like there were issues with Amaker at Harvard. Stanford is a tough school to recruit at because of the academic requirements, yet Harbaugh seems to be snagging kids that otherwise would never have been considered. I'm not saying he is guilty of anything, but Palo Alto usually doesn't see the types of recruiting hauls Harbaugh has been bringing in (4 4* so far this year, 8 4* last year). Again, I have no proof, and this is not one of those "I'm not saying, I'm just saying" routines - it just seems weird that he nabbed such highly-rated recruits after two straight losing seasons.

but if you spent some time in Palo Alto, you'd seriously consider going there. Great academic facilities, Pac-10, near three large cities (Oakland, SF and San Jose), and the best weather in the country per many studies. Of course, there is the earthquake issue!
