I wish he went into more detail. I know exactly how he feels and the sentiment is not totally without merit, but unless he explains what his plans were for fixing the defense it doesn't mean anything. What's he gonna say, he would have hired Greg Mattison too?

He probably "deserved" another year, but Michigan took a gamble that we could do better by not doing right by Rodriguez, and it worked out pretty well. Rodriguez has a right to be pissed because he was misused, but he ought to acknowledge there were some MAJOR problems that he had something to do with that someone else was left to fix, not least relationships with alumni which probably needed more than a Sugar Bowl win to salve.

Any time you're whining about what you deserved without acknowledging your own culpability, you're basically just whining.

How does this thread fit within the Board's policies, if it has any, on the subject of Coach Rodriguez?  I suspect that because this is a fan site, that is essentially for entertainment purposes, the important thing is that everybody mostly agrees, and that the subject matter and the tenor of the discussion be pleasing to the Board's major demographic group.

Why..what? Pleasing demographic groups?

Only policy-like wire this trips is that all things Rich Rod tend to start 200-post threads with flame wars and people banned. Almost always, the newsworthiness of whatever Rich Rod said is not worth inevitable descent into madness.

This is the Wild West. If Brian makes a policy, and we remember it, we might enforce it. With this one, I was in Europe and saw the thread after it was already shoved most of the way down the board and filled with replies and people were generally behaving, so, okay, whatever.

You're wrong about the purpose of the site; it's to be informative, not entertaining. There's a huge, huge, difference.
