I saw Rountree a week or so ago at one of my favorite thursday night hang outs and I was really surprised at how big he was. I'm around 6' tall but he had at least two inches on me and wasn't as slight as I expected. He's also a great guy that was willing to talk for a while and told me how excited he was for the upcoming season. Definitely a great kid to have on the team.

...UM receivers need to be. He has shown -- and hopefully will continue to show -- that it's more important to be able to catch and hold onto the football than be a speedsters able to hit the homerun. I'd rather see the chains move because of great catching receivers who aren't blazers than blazers who can not be relied on to make catches.

FWIW, I don't think Roundtree is particularly slow. I think he got caught from behind because he thought he was in the clear and he eased up just a bit. He's not a blazer, but I'm not concerned about his speed at all.

...I didn't mean to imply he was slow but he's not a burner. Running good routes and getting separation from defenders is what is key, imho. Roundtree has shown both ability and hopefully he'll continue to do so. It's time UM busts out and shows consistency on both sides of the ball. Hopefully this year will be the beginning of a long trend of consistent dominating football in A2.

What people also forget, or perhaps never knew, is that the kid who chased Roundtree down, Terry Hawthorne, was a pretty big recruit, and more importantly, a track STAR. He would probably be the second fastest player on our team, if not the fastest (for real). So that's like giving DRob or Mike Shaw 60 yards to run down a receiver, which they could do to most any receiver in the country.
