Roster has updated heights and weights; Green at 240 (!)
Pardon me while I update my roster on NCAA like the loser I am.

Good to hear he's at 237, 2 pounds higher than Funchess. Everyone knew he would see the field this year but that weight definitely confirms it. Hopefully he struggles less with the blocking than Funchess did.
Our TE depth is thin, so the fact that Jake isn't is big news. He's a lock to play.
- Courtney Avery is the ONLY CB on our roster. The other secondary types are "DB" or "S"
- Terry Richardson is the lightest player at 167
- Chris Fox is the heaviest player at 338
- Taco Charlton senior HS season was 249, is now 270 (!)
- Channing Stribling and Reon Dawson are toothpicks at 6-2, 170
- We now have seven scholarship secondary players over 6-0
- Mario Ojemudia is the smallest DE at 250; avg. DE weight = 270
- Henry Poggi is the smallest DT at 260; avg. DT weight = 292 (scholarship)
- Hagerup IS on the roster
- Cam Gordon (6-3, 237) is the third-heaviest LB, behind only converted DE Beyer (250) and JMFR (240)
- Mike McCray is already 237, and is 6-4
- James Ross III is the lightest (scholarship) LB at 220; also tied for the shortest (Desmond Morgan, 6-1, 228)
- Avg. weight of TRUE Fr. OL = 301
- Avg. weight of RS Fr. OL = 299 (scholarship)
- There are 19 OL on the roster
- De'Veon Smith is 5-11, 224
- Wyatt Shallman (6-3, 237) is lighter than Derrick Green (5-11, 240)
- Justice Hayes is the ONLY RB under 200, he is 5-10, 192
- Funchess is up to 235 from 227 (yay!). Khalid Hill is the shortest TE at 6-2, and the second-heaviest at 258 (A.J. Williams, 265)
- Our WRs are TALL. The only non-senior scholarship WR under 6-2 is Dennis Norfleet.
Nuggets:
- We have "college-ready" size and depth on the DL and OL for the first time since '07.
- We are getting taller at DB and WR.
- There are very few true freshman who will have to redshirt strictly due to size concerns: Dawson, Stribling, Lewis, Kugler, and York are the only guys that appear too slight to play (and that could be wrong, since four of those five are DB or WR).
- We are getting bigger everywhere, but will start with two LBs under 230 lbs, as well as two of the primary back-ups (Joe Bolden, 6-3, 225 and Royce Jenkins-Stone 6-2, 225). It appears speed is more important to Hoke/Mattison at MLB and WLB than is size.
Quart?
Not sure what you're asking about...my WR height comment specifies "non-senior" WRs.
OK, so can some people stop saying "needs to add weight" when we get a commitment from a guy who won't be on the field for a year or two? Of course they need to add weight and they will.
OK, there are some exceptions but my god! Look at some of the differences compared to when guys left high school! It just seems too many people freak out about weight when some kids are still Juniors in HS.
But when you say, "So-and-so will have to gain weight," it means that the kid isn't at an ideal playing weight and will have to be able to gain X pounds without losing speed/quickness/etc. When a guy is "college-ready," it means (a) he won't have to worry about gain weight before seeing the field, and (b) we don't have to worry about that player losing speed/quickness/etc. in his pursuit of said ideal weight.
Green's weight explains Fitz Toussaint's confidence from yesterday!
HE PULLED AN EDDIE LACY
PANIC
PANNNIIIIICCCC
Considering he's never actually ran a 4.3, I'll say probably not.
Chris Fox weighs more than two Terry Richardsons.
Perhaps even more amazing is that TR started at 154 (!).
Chris Fox could have damn near eaten that version of Terry Richardson.
I WANT to believe that college S&C has turned him into a 240 lb slab of pure muscle, grit and horsepower that runs through granite and shits John Wayne. And this time of year, no one can prove otherwise.
Whether or not a player is carrying too much weight does not boil down to an analysis of "good, unless fat, then bad." Green's body fat percentage could be in the single digits and his weight could still be problematic; certain players cannot stay agile and athletic above a certain weight threshold. Whether or not that will be a problem for Green remains to be seen and it's pointless to speculate about it now, but it would be really rare for a running back to be at 240 pounds and still remain agile and speedy enough to do the kind of damage we'll need from Green.
Around ten years ago, a physical marvel named Greg Jones played at Florida State. Jones was extremely fast and cut to shreds, but was so musclebound he could scarcely maneuver. He kicked around the NFL after college but was often relegated to fullback, where he couldn't survive because he was never anything more than an average blocker.
Yeah being ten pounds heavier than Eddie Lacy is not good any way you spin it. Green will either slim down or probably not see the field much.
Why is everybody worried about Green's weight? He's the top incoming freshman running back.... Do you really think our coaching staff is going to let him be at a weight where he can't contribute?
He was brought in for 3 reasons.. To disregard females, aquire wealth, and win football games for Michigan.. Well, hopefully just win games.

I think the compairisons to LeVeon Bell are spot on. This dude will truck his way through B1G defenses THIS year, people. I am not saying that Toussaint, Rawls, Justice, etc... are not good, I just have a gut feeling that this kid is a superstar. Watch his feet before he hits holes on tape. He reminds me of Anthony Thomas with the quick shuffle step, and I also see a bit of Mike Hart in that he seems to always gain yardage with every move he makes. We need a big bruising back to slam the power play up the middle of all these tough defenses on the schedule. I can't wait to see the opener in person in 24 days!!! Go Blue!!!
