Roster has updated heights and weights; Green at 240 (!)
Pardon me while I update my roster on NCAA like the loser I am.

Mike McCray is 6'4 237? I guess Rivals was right?
Also- Terry Richardson is still 167. To the Sandwich Hut with thee, son.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:16 PM ^
I thought one of the main knocks on him was that he was short for a SAM at only 6'0" or 6'1". If he really is 6'4" then I might have to jump on the Mike McCray bandwagon early
August 6th, 2013 at 12:18 PM ^
Looks like all the LBs are bigger than we thought.
Gedeon- 6'3, 236
RJS finally gained some weight too- 6'2, 225
August 6th, 2013 at 12:29 PM ^
However, haven't we concluded that some inflation occurs with the posted mgoblue heights and weights?
I'm a little surprised that both of them are conveniently bigger than everyone thought. Then again, I don't think either hit the camp circuit extensively so it could be very possible that they were just off the radar for a long time and their size never got updated
August 6th, 2013 at 12:37 PM ^
What was RJS' previous weight?
August 6th, 2013 at 12:41 PM ^
210-215
They are bigger than we thought, but still generally undersized. Gordon, Ross, Morgan, Bolden, and RJS are all under 240 lbs. Ross' weight actually went down from last year and I can't believe Bolden only went from 223 to 225 lbs. Beyer is our only LB that will get meaningful snaps that weighs over 240 lbs until Ryan comes back, which will only replace him.

If Terry needs some extra weight, I have a few pounds I can spare for him.

McCray may be a carbon copy of one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Crable
August 6th, 2013 at 12:31 PM ^
No helmet to helmet hits in critical games please...
August 6th, 2013 at 12:38 PM ^
Or miss the man he's supposed to block on special teams.
Dammit, Shawn. He may have been the cause of the two most painful plays I can think of in recent years for Michigan. Apart from a couple brutal plays though, I would be perfectly content if McCray could be Shawn Crable 2.0

Weight loss = faster
Weight gain = stronger
August 6th, 2013 at 12:17 PM ^
Unless it's happening to an opponents roster of course. In that case:
Weight loss = weaker
Weight gain = fatter
August 6th, 2013 at 12:30 PM ^
and slower
August 6th, 2013 at 12:18 PM ^
Charlton 6'6" 270 lbs
Tuley-Tillman 6'7" 300lbs
Another reason why I think having recruits early enroll is like adding a half a star to their ranking, especially linemen.

I saw LTT on state st a few weeks back. It's like night and day from what he looked like this time last year (granted he was sidelined with an injury last year)
August 6th, 2013 at 12:18 PM ^
What was green at during his senior year?
August 6th, 2013 at 12:19 PM ^
About 220 or 225
August 6th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
Seems like he's gotta watch that weight. Wasn't one of the one likely downsides of Green that he might get too big and basically become a fullback? Seems like 240 is pretty heavy
August 6th, 2013 at 12:51 PM ^
If he becomes Mike Alstott but faster and more agile I'd be ok with that. Truck stick activated.
Eddie Lacy was a cool 230 lbs in college and he did alright. I would immagine he's a bit more than that now...
But just in case.... These are fake pics from Packers camp. There was also a similar one of Rodgers.
Before he became a soul crushing RB, he was a short fat offensive lineman -- 5'8" 268 to be more exact.
Yeah, I recall hearing stories reporting he was overweight as a kid and actually dropped a bunch during high school to get down to 220. I think he will be one of those guys that has to work to keep his weight down.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:21 PM ^
Rivals listed him at 220. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Derrick-Green-109982
Edit: too slow... but with link. +1 me.

The Green obsession on this site is reaching critical levels

Highest rated recruit + highest likelihood of seeing the field + skill position = HYPE MACHINE ENGAGE
August 6th, 2013 at 12:26 PM ^
I was just about to type the same thing. FWIW....can you imagine for a second what this board would've been like Drew Henson's Freshman year? #1 rated recruit....from MICHIGAN (fergodssake) and a MFing Quarterback to boot.
Hype machine would've melted.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:21 PM ^
- Chris Fox - 338
- Logan Tuley-Tillman - 300
- Lewis - 170
August 6th, 2013 at 12:29 PM ^
I guess somewhat to be expected coming off of ACL surgery.
I would add Patrick Kugler to this list at 287 lbs. Going to be hard to come in and compete for starting center underweight. Also Dan Samuelson.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
Except Kugler's primary competition weighs 290.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:49 PM ^
Kugler is an inch taller than Jack Miller so I would expect him to be carrying more weight.
But you are right, it looks like he could compete at that weight.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:53 PM ^
Yea centers usually run smaller than the rest of the O-line considering they usually have to be quicker, more agile.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:57 PM ^
A certain all time Michigan "Great" who played center wasn't all that big either. Just sayin...

August 6th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
287 isn't bad. He was 280 in HS, and Jack MIller is only 290.
Graham Glasgow is only 303.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:37 PM ^
With Miller just 290 and the current uncertainty at the position I hope Kugler gets some serious consideration with his technique supposedly his best quality. But what do I know
He could certainly be servicable at 287...I wouldn't expect him to gain more than 10 lbs over his career at Michigan and that's saying a lot. I wouldn't be shocked if he did...but if he was a senior at 297, that'd certainly be solid.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:37 PM ^
Hoke was just talking about Lewis in the return game, doubt he redshirts
August 6th, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
and a bit skeptical he has the same quickness that he'd have at 220.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:33 PM ^
He's obviously too big for RB.
Shallman'd
August 6th, 2013 at 12:36 PM ^
Although Green is an inch or two shorter, he has very similar measurables to Le'Veon Bell from his freshman year. He was 6'1", 237 as a freshman at MSU.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:52 PM ^
6'1 240. Little size on that kicker.
Agreed. Three years against LeVeon Bell sucked, so imagine Bell with a great OL.
August 6th, 2013 at 12:24 PM ^
Mario Ojemudia is up to 250. That quietly could be huge. He needed to add on weight
August 6th, 2013 at 12:55 PM ^
to 235. He's starting to get more respectable size.
