For #Michigan fans curious about Jim Harbaugh: Booster Stephen Ross is much more interested in him at U-M than with #Dolphins

So a number of people have brought up Harbaugh's two under-18 kids from his first marriage as a reason not to leave the Bay Area. Okay, fine, but this assumes the kids live in the Bay Area. Do we actually know this, and if so, how?

The only information I could find said that, as of 2013, Harbaugh's kids from his first marriage lived with the mother in the San Diego area (not the Bay Area) until she moved out of state (also not the Bay Area).

I don't really want to get into more detail about his family's life, as that walking down a creepy path. But if this information is true, then why would Jim Harbaugh moving to Ann Arbor change anything with regards custody?

To a source. I highly doubt his wife is making the call. I'm not saying he's coming, just think that angle is overblown. This Rappaport or whatever just says his "source." Christ, a year ago Harbaugh was willing to go to cleveland. I'll believe one guy and that is when Jim himself says so. For every "source" that claims jim isn't coming, you'll find one saying he is.

it's worth noting that the only source for the Harbaugh was willing to go to Cleveland thing was that Ohio State student writer at Grantland. The reports at the time by Florio and PFT were that Harbaugh WASN'T willing to go to Cleveland and that he nixed the trade deal the 49ers had arranged.

Is anything Greg Henson not allowed on mgoblog I am guessing? Just assuming that's why I don't see anything about his Twitter comments today on Harbaugh, and also that The Beaver is saying the same things on scout?

I don't get why he's blackballed here.  He clearly has reputable sources.  He nailed the "Schlissel talked to the team" story about 24 hours before a university spokesman confirmed it and any MSM picked it up.

Am I missing something?

Twitter comments.

The Henson comment regarding Harbaugh planning his staff are absurd. The idea that Harbaugh is thinking about who to put on his staff(and he would tell someone) while in the middle of the season with the Niners is asinine.

Harbaugh is not coming to Michigan!!!!
He will be highly coveted by the NFL after this season! He will get full control of all football operations and will be highly paid!!!!

I know the people saying "no chance we get him" are just protecting themselves from heartbreak but come on. For having the reputation as one of the cockiest schools in the nation there sure are a lot of annoyingly unhopeful people on this board.

being hopeful is stupid

what it leads to, inevitably, are people who will sit here and whine and moan and set fire to the world when we announce a coach whose last name isn't Harbaugh. And then we will endure years of posts about Hackett and Schlissel and how they intentionally screwed us out of our only chance at happiness by not offering Jim Harbaugh our entire endowment so that he might buy his own NFL team and also coach Michigan.

It's unlikely he's coming here. The only reports that indicate that he's even considering it are second and third hand accounts from Michigan fans. You're better off hoping for Dan Mullen or wondering if Al Golden would be able to win in the B1G, those are far more realistic options.

Offer JH a deal he cannot refuse. But it is not my decision. It will be the AD or AAD along with the president and board of regions. I fear the University will not go fully after JH and will come up short on any contract offer. That is why I think the chances are low that JH will be our next coach. I just hope they have a great plan B and plan C. No more .500 coaches from smaller schools. I think Miles will come here but I'm not sure if he will be on the AD or AAD list of possible coaches. At this time I fear there is a 50/50 chance I will not be happy with who is HC next season.

He's just looking for clicks, so I guess he should thank you.

Also, what's Ross supposed to say? The Dolphins look really solid (5-2 during the past 7 games), their QB looks legit, and Joe Philbin looks like he may be a very good head coach.

Of course Ross is going to show strong support for the guy. The Dolphins look like they will make the playoffs this year.

not as far fetched as it seemingly was during the last search.

Harbaugh will make enough money to keep his family happy - Jim's wife has to love him enough to see this kind of dream come true for him.  She will be able to get to the bay area if/when she feels the need.  If his dream is to lead Michigan and build the program to what it once was now is the time to take this job.

The NFL will always be there and I believe he knows that.

Hail.
