If you haven't read through these yet they are pretty entertaining. For some reason his book got much worse today.
Rosenberg's Amazon Book Reviews - Hilarious!
It's like the opposite of the 3 wolves shirt.
Most of these are absolutely hilarious, but some are pushing the lines there... "Pathetic excuse for a human being?" Really? He wrote a ridiculous column, and...
Wow, so as I was writing that comment I changed my mind. I don't think I've ever had that before.
He wrote a ridiculous column, misrepresented the words and motives of 18 year old kids, disgraced the name of not only a coach, but a whole program. Some of the words are harsh, but good heavens Rosenberg, WTF.
and we are not done with Rosenhack yet...
"Not worth reading, listening to, or using to level out an uneven table."
That was priceless.
"Rosenass is an awful writer, a snake, a snitch, a turncoat and a general turdball."
Rosenberg's allegations constitute an attack on Michigan's integrity. For Michigan fans to respond in such a petty, and dare I say unethical way simply serves to legitimize him. As Michigan fans, we pride ourselves on our spotless program because it is proof that the Michigan football program holds a moral advantage over every other team, while maintaining excellence on the field. To attack Rosenberg by attacking a book he wrote that is favorable to one of the greatest coaches in our school's history both detracts from this moral superiority and is stupid at the same time. It is beneath us.
yep, I'm simply a voyeur. you won't find any trashy reviews from me on amazon.
that said it's still entertaining.
I can see how you shouldn't trash a book, but it's fair to say the guy has questionable journalistic tendencies.
Ah, the old admit you wrote a negative article, get -1 points, then edit your post to say "I can see acting like this would be bad" technique. It's a good one.
I didn't edit my post because I got minus 1. I edited it to clarify, and because I do see the immaturity of trashing the book.
War As They Knew It is, simply, one of the best and most inventive books about the rivalry that has ever been written. Even though it's author is a shithead, it should be read by any Michigan and Ohio State fan looking to understand the true nature of the teams and the men they cherish.
To denigrate such a book, the vast majority of people without having even read it, is just asinine and immature. If you really want to make a point about how awful Rosenberg's campaign against our coach has been, do it by going out of your way to complement him on his good qualities... show him how people with class and integrity act. By stooping to his level you make yourself, your fellow fans and the team by association look bad.
Yeah, I'm with you here. I haven't read the book myself, but I picked up a copy for my father, and he recommended I read it when he finished. Even if you don't want to buy it, you could probably check it out from the library.
Trashing him on Amazon is momentarily entertaining, but ... meh.
For some strange reason I expected more 3 star reviews.
from mister Victor Hugo -
"Rivals Shakespeare for poetry and depth, which is a neat trick when writing about a couple of blowhard football coaches."
I see what you did there.
I read it - checked it out of the library. Not a one star book but not five either. Call it three stars. I probably would rate it higher but for the fact that half of the material is common knowledge if you're any kind of fan.
I had considered buying a copy for my dad for his birthday coming up soon, but after the series of hatchet jobs topped off by the jihad, I no longer have any interest in supporting Rosenberg financially. Sorry, Dad, maybe I'll get you tickets to the Eastern game or something.
Rosenberg has become a troll. A public, visible troll, but a troll nonetheless. We are now feeding him. Let's take a page from RR and not respond.
and enjoyed it. But, upon reflection, I wished I had taken it out of the library!
