Rose Bowl Open Thread

The Granddaddy of them all! The 100th Rose Bowl. Number 4 Michigan State vs. Number 5 Stanford. Who are you guys taking in this game and why? I like Stanford so I wouldn't mind to see them win. I do think the perception of the Big Ten is somewhat important, but I also don't think the Big Ten being that great matters a whole lot. I'm cheering for neither team though. I am just hoping for a good quality game.

The line favors Stanford by 5.5 points. Michigan State has the best defense in the country. Stanford has one of the best ground and pound teams in the country.

F/+ Projection: Stanford 20, Michigan State 11
Win Probability: Stanford 73%

I'm not shocked at all. This is how MSU has played all year. Their defense ends up taking over and the offense makes the plays that are needed to win the game.

Isn't it nice to see two well disciplined defenses play? One day I hope we have that again.

Calling it right now, there is no way Stanford wins this game. Screw MSU. I really need to move out of Michigan.

Now all of a sudden Sparty has awesome receivers. Defensive TD aside, this game belongs to MSU. Since the opening drive Stanford has done next to nothing and their defense can't cover anyone.

Nah the OL was not a weakness coming into 2013; it was in 2012 as they had a slew of injuries.  They brought in a new coach from OSU to help the offense and he focuses on OL and TE.  They had a ton of injuries to OL last year which is why their offense was a tire fire (as well as Maxwell not being a gamer) now all those guys came back healthy plus they have a ZERO star RS freshman I believe playing one of the tackles and an all american freshman (dont quote me on the award but something like that) at center and rotate 8 guys through the OL so that next year when they lose a few to graduation they are not starting from scratch.  You know - thinking ahead....
