Peppers at 10, which seems low.
Please edit your thread title.
I'll be rooting for IU simply for the reason that we get to play them again. Well, that and the fact they're playing Ohio.
P.S. You'd better change your title before everyone starts busting your chops.
I hate ND and Ohio. I will never cheer for them. Both of them can fall off the map. Go Hoosiers.
routes for 23 south to I-80, with I-75 as a 3:1 underdog.
on traffic and time of day of course... The best route... Wait what was this thread about?
When it comes to conference record, both Michigan and Indiana are 8-2, so from a sheer win/loss standpoint, an Indiana loss helps us in the conference and likely in the polls too. That being said, I will also be cheering for Indiana in that game because my mind is unable to process cheering for their opponent somehow.
I'm just going to ignore the game and rationalize the result as a positive regardless. We are in the drivers seat now so as long as we take care of business nothing else matters.
This is the best route.
Which route gives US a better path to the title?
I prefer a Dewalt plunge router. Really does a nice job of routing.
I will be "rootong" for IU
Rootong? I think the edit needs a rewrite.
I don't have any idea what to do with this.
I am an epic fail with the iPhone. Moved to the iPad. I can at least see my post now. Thanks for the patience.
Now, which outcome is most beneficial.
Glad you got to the root of the issue
IMO best outcome for M is if Ohio and Indiana split their 2 match-ups. Both get one more conference loss, and reduces the possiblity of a title tie.
The most likely path for this is for both teams to lose on the road. Therefore, I am hoping IU losses on Saturday.
But if I actually watch the game, I'm sure each Indiana make / Ohio miss will bring a moment of happiness.
Go <<Michigan B1G Title Maximizing Outcome>>. Which at this stage is the home team of any match up involving two of Indiana, MSU, OSU, & Wiscy. I think.
LeBron called and cast his vote.
just keeps getting better...
Indiana isn't winning this game. So, I doubt I'll be watching much of it.
Either team losing helps us. They play each other in Bloomington next week as well.
Rooting for the Hoosiers, whether strategic or not. More pain for Ohio, please.
I am rooting for OSU to rout Indiana, which I believe will put Michigan en route to the BIG title.
I know that's a cop out. But if Michigan wins out, they win the B1G Championship.
That's what I'm rooting for.
But I don't care who wins this game any more than I care who wins a PSU/Nebraska game.
we already split with Ohio, is it best for them to take both games against Indiana just in case we get swept by Indiana? Or Is a split in their series better for us to win the B1G?
Also, Go Hoosiers.
This isn't football, most OSU hoop fans are okay. An Indiana loss helps us more. Not that it matters but I think Crean is a total jerk and so are Shehee and Olidipshit. Craft is annoying to play against but like Burke he keeps his mouth shut. Root for the home team.
in the Value City Arena?
I think you are overestimating the number of alumni.
No their fans are just As bad when it comes to basketball. For example...... My husband and I were on a walk after Michigan lost to Ohio and 3 idiot Ohio fans driving down the road yell at us " who won that game?? Go Blow". Yea, perfect strangers. They are just As bad. You live in Ohio your dislike for them starts to run deep. I root for any team that plays them in any sport:) we've been harassed enough to not root against them. I can't tell you how many times we've been told we have sh*t on our shirts by people we don't even know.
With that said Hoo hoo Hoosiers:)
The more important question is do we root for Michigan to somehow not end up as #1 next week to avoid the curse of #1 teams against State?
the regular season championship. I will gladly accept it alone or as a tie, but I will trade it right now for the B1G tournament championship. I am really glad that it is not in Indy this year. But I predict one more loss (at MSU?) in the regular season, a final four loss in the B1G tournament, and then clear sailing through the NCAA's!
We don't need Indiana getting any big road wins.
in order to predict the Big10 Tournament. This is definitely the year the person who knows nothing about basketball wins the office pool.
They aren't really a threat to our B1G title hopes. And being in Bloomington Saturday made me really hate IU, fans, lack of Zeller fouls, and oladipo dunk especially...
I want Indiana to lose.
However, this does not mean I will root for Ohio. In terms of rooting interest, I am merely a dispassionate observer.
At the end of the day, this is as good as it gets . . . someone has to lose, and someone will feel a lot of pain. I don't care who.
Ohio State, without question.
Didn't expect their fans to be such assholes, but myself and a friend went down to the game last Saturday in Bloomington, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they're up there with the worst fan bases I've ever encountered, and I grew up in the Lansing area. Just completely awful people, and I'm not basing this on a small sample size, it happened a lot throughout the day. Who gets in someone's face just walking down the street and says "fuck you guys", or "get the fuck out of our town"? Also, grown ass men wearing those IU warm up sweat pants in public.
Couple the way they treat complete strangers for wearing the wrong team colors with a loss helping us in the standings, and I know where I'm at this weekend.
And yes, I know Ohio State fans also suck. I'm on a bit of recency bias here, but fuck IU, forever.
Need another Indiana lose. Only way we control our own destiny.
We play IU again this season, so with things being tied right now we already control our own destiny.
Ohio. Just because I'd like to win the big ten outright. Cody Zeller's mom gets on my nerves too.
Yeah her smugness permeates my tv screen.
I'm rooting for IU.
I can't root for ohio.
We have another shot at IU.
ohio is practically out with a loss here.
Either way, we owe Illinois a case of beer for beating both teams.
Till they lose to us at home like they're supposed to.
I think IU is a bigger threat to win the B1G then Ohio. So I will be rooting for IU to lose.
Haha this thread was a lot of fun to read. Note to self: Don't ever misspell anything in a thread title.
What helps Michigan is beating a highly ranked IU team at the end of the year! And I would just feel dirty rooting for Ohio.
I'm sure Indiana fans got sick of hearing about the best back court in the country and how nice Crisler is and how he can't wait to see it. Vitale is the only announcer that can manage to annoy the entire listening audience
The prime directive: Always root against Ohio State. Plus, we control our own destiny in the Big Ten basketball race, so there is no reason to even consider deviating from this sound rule.
Rooting for IU to lose. We don't want any of the other contenders to win on another contender's home floor.
They just lost ot ILL
Ohio State, as much as it pains me to say. I don't want Indiana winning a big game on the road.
I actually mostly like OSU basketball. They play a style I enjoy, their players have mostly seemed like good guys.
that said, even if I felt about them like I feel about OSU football, I'd be rooting for them because it's in our best interest in the standings.
...have you been to Columbus...wearing Michigan gear (albeit not the brightest thing I did when attending Michigan) for a b-ball game? They do not discriminate by sport. I did not hear a single Ohio fan say oh...we only root against you in football...we love your basketball team...they are fun to watch!
Indiana has my vote. Rooting for Ohio is like cheering for the spread of syphilis. I'm not doing THAT again!
It's close to a push, but with Indiana tied and OSU a loss behind us, an OSU win over IU betters our conference title chances.
I also think IU has a much better chance at the title than OSU, so if IU is a loss behind us that puts us in excellent standing. Of course, all we need to do is win, the rest will sort itself out.
This is a toughie, but.... if I can't root for the asteroid, I go with wanting the Hoosiers to win this one.
- The same OSU fans we hate in November? Many of them are also at Value City cheering for their basketball team. The only reason they don't poop in coolers is because there aren't tailgates for a basketball game in February.
- If Indiana was the crean of the crop and OSU was a bunch of scrubs, I'd gladly hold my nose and root for the Buckeyes just this once. OSU is very legit, as we saw Tuesday. I don't want to see them putting it all together and making a run in March. If they revert back to All Deshaun All The Time, I'm fine with that. Also, OSU losing Sunday is a potentially fatal deathblow to another viable conference contender's title hopes.
- Yeah, Crean is a Dwight Schrute-wannabe douchebag, but is Thad Matta substantially better in that regard?
- This isn't like OSU at MSU last season where the result of that game absolutely determined who'd win the conference. There's almost half a season left to play and you can't even say for sure that OSU winning is the best result for our title hopes.
Isn't "fatal deathblow" kind of redundant?
"crean of the crop" lol
Ohio cheats; Indiana doesn't. The choice is pretty easy for me.
Or are they still on it, for the Sampson years? Plus they had a bunch of players suspended at the start of the season for violations.
It's not exactly gold pants for tats, and it's not their history, but they might have been in more actual (if minor) trouble than anything OSU has been caught doing...yet.
I'm rooting for OSU. Winning on the road in the Big Ten is extremely hard, and we might just split with MSU. A loss by Indiana could give us some margin for error.
I rooted for OSU in a bowl game once, several years ago. I've learned from my mistake. It won't happen again.
Indiana simply isn't good enough to dominate anyone in the top half of the B1G on the road. Also, I think OSU drops three more games (@IU, @Wisky and home against MSU) to finish 12-6 so I don't view them as a threat. We need more IU losses.
This thread added to the substance of the universe in a very hilarious manner. I'm reading the fateful transcript-and-subsequent-community-revision of the title and scope therin. Classic stuff!
Rooting interest, intra-conference juggernauts (State, Ohio, IU): Usually Away team win--it weakens the homecourt advantage, and anything to make away games less worrying for my team (Michigan) as it potentially plays at these sites in the future. I could go either way but I also root for as many turnovers and sloppy play as possible.
