Rodriguez on WDFN this morning

Coach Rodriguez was on with Art Regner and Vic Faust (who were filling in for Baligian's morning show).

Here's the link to the WDFN podcast page: http://www.wdfn.com/cc-common/podcast/single_podcast.html?podcast=SeanBa...

Highlights:

- RR spoke at a banquet last night and most of his speech was on the importance of family and spending time with family. That is why his (and the other coaches) kids are around a lot during practice. He hopes that the importance of family time and values are driven into the team. Guess we can put all that lack of family values crap behind us...

- Also talks about the perceived force-feeding of his offense to players who don't fit the system. Good question from Regner, I believe, to get that topic started.

Lots of good stuff and definitely worth a listen.

What do you mean by

I guess we can put all that lack of family values behind us? We have never had a lack of family values, just haters that weren't on board with the new regime. I certainly don't think we have to put it behind us because it was never here in the first place.

I meant it for the haters out there

I understand no one here thought we didn't have family values on the team. I just hope this interview helps to end all of BS.

Yes

At the time of the interview, he was still in critical condition. RR said that he received a text after the banquet from a friend informing him of the accident. He went on to talk about how CH had some problems, but had heard he was turning his life around. He also said that anytime you get the chance to coach someone, they're always in your life (or something like that). It's a good listen.

That's very interesting

I read RR's statement in an article in the Freep (I hate myself now, but at least I didn't pay for a subscription) but it seems like it was just an official-sounding statement:

"I enjoyed our time together at West Virginia, and we shared a lot of great moments. I have many fond memories of our three years together and will remember those forever. Chris will be missed by many, and he will always have a place in my heart."

I'm interested in hearing RR on the radio.

To be fair

Tiger Woods said "family comes first" all the time...it's easy to say...harder to do. That being said, I think RR means it.

Thanks for the link. RR seems

Thanks for the link. RR seems very down to earth, yet optimistic at the same time. I like that.
