Rodriguez watching for Double Standard

I know this has been covered, but the Detroit News article indicates that Rodriguez will be http://www.detnews.com/article/20090919/SPORTS0201/909190389/1131/SPORT… "I will tell you, my conversation with the commissioner (Jim Delany) is that we will watch every Big Ten game very closely, and any non-football act, whether it's a six-inch jab or anything not called for in the game of football, we're going to ask that that person gets the same type of punishment that Jonas Mouton got," Rodriguez said. "And I'm sure the league will do that." I would like to reiterate earlier sentiment that the coaches should not be focused on this, and I believe this should be outsourced to us (The fans). Anyone finding video of a punch / incident for the upcoming oppenent shoudl post it to the board with a link to youtube. For Indiana it probably isn't necessary, but for Michigan State we should be scouring the footage for punches etc this week. That would certainly be a painful double standard for the Big 10 to go through on (suspending a State player for the Michigan game). Here's to Cousins and Nicol both throwing jabs in the game this week.

... but I think RichRod has made his point on this before, and should just leave it alone. That said, I'm still sore at the rest of the Big 10 for negging Michigan and sending tOSU to the 1974 Rose Bowl...

He's letting the Big 10 folks (and the wusses in the AD who rolled over) know he will be standing up for his players and not letting any other Big 10 team operate by a different set of rules. Good move.

I doubt Rich Rod and his staff are going to be watching every game of the opponents for these type of acts (although they might be watching the games for scouting purposes). I would figure the job would fall to some interns or low level people in the athletic department. Outsourcing the job to the fans for complaints is a decent idea. The only issue is that the complaints from the fans to Big Ten would not hold nearly as much weight as a coach's complaint. This is not to discourage, because I am sure when a fan finds it and posts about it or sends a letter to the Athletic Department, it will probably find its way to Rich Rod.

I understand and I do condone what he has said but at the same time hope that as said earlier in the thread that this is put on an interns to do list. These are the things that come with success. You must go up one side of the hill before you roll down the other. I guess I am just hoping that by all of the negative attention we have received, warranted or not, that he keeps the same hunger inside the team and does not fall into the media trap and war of words.
