at least it's not just us?
You're seeing something that isn't there. I think he's pretty much maintained the same attitude. Obviously he knows that we keep getting closer every year, but I haven't seen a change in the last few weeks.
I think this goes to his understanding of the team over the pst few years. People have criticized him (I almost typed 'negged' wow) for not coming out and stating that "We are gonna beat team x this year,' but he has been smart enough to understand that the team is not there yet and comments like the ones so many people want him to make would end up coming to haunt him when the team did not beat team x.
I am not sure. However, I am proud of him for his effort and integrity in dealing with players and I am ashamed at many of my fellow alumni who were out to get him from day one. The crap that he has had to endure has smeared and set back the entire program.
I cannot believe the amount of negativity that he has endured since arriving here and is still working through it with his chin held high. This is a lot better man than anybody gives him credit for being and truly cares about these kids; most of all, just yearns to be a Michigan Man & be accepted by Blue Nation. I feel bad that the people of this great state and University have really been so shitty to him from the get go. I would love to see him right the ship & shove it up (drew sharp's especially) the haters asses...But he wouldn't do that, he would welcome everybody on the bandwagon because he is a man of integrity.
Whatever his path holds, I do wish him the best...Go Blue
I agree a 100% and I am embarrased for some of our fans.
I don't see any change and, quite frankly, I think the man has to be emotionally exhausted.
He needs a vacation, preferably one to Orlando.
Sorry, but I don't think the Capital One Bowl is going to take a 7-5 Michigan over an 11-1 MSU team. I think you meant Jacksonville or maybe Tampa for the Gator or Outback Bowls.
Not just that, but i feel horrible for his family and all that they have had to endure.. Poor guy.. seriously..
I'm here, ready to give them out freely.
Of course it's my epinion, I posted it on a message board.
The change may not have come in the last three weeks, but he can certainly see the fruit of his labors more now than he could in December 2008, and he'd necessarily be reflecting that in how he talks about the team.
I agree so if its not there then we both are seeing things.
Or maybe a sign of desperation? He knows he is on the hot seat. He doesn't have the time any more to say we'll win we are better etc. For his own sake he needs to talk his team, and his work up.
I know this is obvious, but I just wonder how this season would have been if Warren stayed and Woolfolk didn't get hurt. I know that the secondary wasn't the prime reason the D sucked, but having two senior playmakers and leaders could have made the difference in the loses. If I were Rich Rod I would be sick to my stomach knowing that I couldn't even see my recruits play as upperclassmen. Give the man a chance DBrandon!!
My thoughts exactly.
Hey, I'm never HAPPY with 7-5 at Michigan but those two guys, if playing well, would have covered a multitude of defensive sins and allowed us to blitz more. Not sure that would have helped us in the Wisky or OSU games, but maybe we would have picked up another win in October.
8-4 and no one is dissing RichRod (other than the people who didn't want him in the 1st place).
and I hope no matter what, he understands we are proud to have him as a coach of our team, and that alone should bring him confidence.
RR is a good man and I hope DB does the right thing.
I agree!! That is one of my biggest reasons for keeping RR. I believe he sees a grerat future with this team. I want to give him at least one more year. After all, we are judging Harbaugh on a 4 year plan. Just my humble opinion!!
Agree he has shown good character through all the adversity. Even after OSU game, although being ticked off,he remained positive about the direction of the program and remained undeterred that he will achieve success.
I truly believe he is a good person who happens to be a very good football coach as well. If he leaves, and I think it is inevitable, I hope he achieves major success in a market where he is given a chance. I also pray that he doesn't take Denard with him.
It would serve part of the fanbase right to watch him win a title elsewhere while at the same time wondering when Harbaugh finally tires of the college scene and tries to prove himself at the next level.
While you see a chance take it...one of my all-time favorite songs.
One of the lyrics say:
"when there's no one left to leave you, even you don't quite believe you, that's when nothing can deceive you."
I think that is what RichRod must be thinking right now.
Time for us to recognize that we ARE getting better but we aren't there yet.
Hey, I LOVE (OK...man crush only) Jim Harbaugh, but now is not the time for change.
Rich Rodriguez is a Michigan Man. If he's not here next year, I'll always remember him as the coach who attempted the impossible (drastic change to Michigan football culture), and almost succeeded if it weren't for a divided fanbase and an AD willing to do anything to bring them back together. Rich has probably had a more difficult time here than any coach in Michigan history, and he's kept his chin up the entire time. I'll always be proud of him, and if he goes I'm sure he'll find success elsewhere.
That said, we're one step away! Step in and give RR a vote of confidence Brandon! Replace Gerg (why my points are negative a google because I've been saying this all season), and let's look forward to competing for the first ever win in a Big Ten Championship game.
Now, fuck the RR haters. Fuck the Harbaugh haters. And go fucking blue.
I feel the same way. Hopefully he can stay and have a chance to turn the corner.
I think its indicative of the kind of man he is that he sat Denard when he was having concussion like symptoms just to be on the safe side. It shows that he sees these kids as people who have lives outside of football and that their health is more important than any game or his job. There are plenty of coaches who would not have made the same decision...
