Rodriguez on Blogs

"Speaking of which, I don't want you to blame Bruce, but we do have to limit or not have the media at practice on Wednesday anymore. Not because it's anybody's fault, but I made the decision because I guess it was out on -- I don't know if it was newspapers or Blogs on certain plays that we were running. I thought, 'geez, you know, I've been pretty open about practice and let everybody view practice and see who is out there. But when plays get written down, I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. When plays are described on newspapers or Blogs and, you know, what you're seeing ? I can't have that out there. That's not fair.'" Is this Brian?

I think this may be referring to the news that M was running plays with DRob lined up as RB last week in practice. If I'm not mistaken I believe that was originally reported by the Daily.

Does this in any way refer to Picture Pages? I had never really considered how easy it would be for an opposing coach to just log on and see a play or two. Maybe I'm just dense.

There was also some stuff here a few weeks ago from some student manager who saw Carlos Brown throwing the ball on a play in preparation for MSU... we didnt see that in the game, but it got out here. There is more 'trickerationability' in this offense...but even boring old Lloyd closed practice for similar reasons. Good call by RR.

Now that RR knows about leaks, maybe he should run some whacked-out stuff in practice that he doesn't plan on doing in games. Then, he could tease the plays as decoys. For example: a fake handoff on a reverse to DRob followed by a screen to someone else on the other side of the field.
