of "have retweeter will travel" recruiting analysts around these days.

Edit: had to take a phone call, that post by Magnus was not there when I started. This is not a response to his post, or an indictment of his or other well-known contributors efforts.

If you click on this guy's twitter page, he posted a photo in December with the caption "Look what Michigan sent me!" - a New Era cap.  The photo was clearly taken in a store, as you can see other merchandise in the background.

Nice try, Ronaiah.

It really wasn't all that uncommon for dudes in high school, at least in the pre-social media days, to say they were being recruited by UM or MSU.  The recruiting information wasn't out there like it is now to prove otherwise.

Well, that is odd. Maybe he really did get an academic scholarship and being a football guy he used "committ" as a sort of funny way to say thats where he is going to be attending college? I don't know, I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt....

Not sure why you'd want to give him the benefit of the doubt here... I don't hate him or anything, but he's supposedly told people he was getting a scholarship of sorts, so he's clearly intentionally misleading people.

I actually like it though. I follow recruiting a bit, but people who invest a lot of energy and emotion in it deserve to have it backfire every once in a while.
