Rock Botom

We are talking about positives after an OSU loss. We are so bad that it's hard to even be mad after we lose to OSU. If that's not rock bottom, what is? We've become Notre Dame with worse recruiting classes. Here's to 6-6 next season! Oh boy, maybe in 2015 we'll be in the top five in the Big Ten. This is fucking terrible and what's worse is people acting like it's not.

Last year was rock bottom. We can't change the past. What we can do is look at our team, how they're developing, and be excited about the future. You must lead a very sad life if you feel you're required to be absolutely furious about everything just because you care deeply about it.

Jebus step off the ledge. We lost to OSU with frosh qb's and 5 to's. The team will get better. And people aren't freaking out because it really isn't that bad. They didn't get blown out, in this case that's improvement. Yes that's sad but for right now we just have to accept it. Bitching and moaning does nothing. Just support the team and hope for some good defensive recruits come feb (db's 1st please!)

Dude, nothing today was unexpected. I thought they performed better - at least the D - than we could have hoped. Save the meltdown. We've been here before and this year was improvement. Next year will be even better. In 20 years, this will be a blip in our lives as UM fans. I know it hurts now, but the future is bright.

The team hit rock bottom last year. It's getting better. If *you*'ve hit rock bottom just now, it's a personal problem. You have sand in your vagina, no need to share it with the rest of the board, we want no part of it.

I'm sad that you're sad. Recommendation: Lift a lot of weights, catch a lot of passes, make a lot of tackles, get real fast and tough and smart, and walk on next year. Your opinion isn't going to beat OSU. Rock Bottom is thinking that if you get really really upset and write down your infuriation the team will become what you wish.

Uhh yeah - nope, that post still sucks. Absolute value or not. Seriously for all of the doom and gloom pessimists, can you post contact info so we can just rail against you next year with horrific vitreol because of your completely narrow minded view of the team? Do all of you go to cancer sites and go, "UGGH, CHEMO DOESN'T WORK, FIRE THE DRUGS, TIME FOR HOLISTIC MEDICINE, I HATE YOU SCIENCE". I concur that constructive criticism is valuable. But this is arguably a team with just horrible depth. And we don't play I-AA; coaches in the Big Ten recognize the weaknesses of this team. This is a team devoid in depth and age. Our best players were all seniors, so direct correlation noted. Imagine the coaches who literally have to pray that no one throws the ball deep on JT Floyd, or look at the film and say, "Maybe Mike Williams won't be horrible". This isn't Charlie Weis who has all the talent in the world on offense and defense with five years to get his system in place. This is year 2 of I suspect a full five year building project. I firmly believe we will be rewarded. Again - this is a coach WHO HAS WON AT EVERY LEVEL. What makes you think he has all of a sudden forgotten how to coach? I would call for firing if he had even a modicum of a mediocre record. But seriously the guy won at West Virgina - where Don Nehlen was happy to be north of .500. If he tells me we are making progress, then I believe we are making progress. R Rod said we would suck last year - we did. He said we would be better but that depth was still a problem, he was right. What has he said or done that has made people believe this outcome is a surprise? For those people who are really fans, I am excited for our collective feature. For those who aren't, I just feel sorry for you. Subsisting on torturing yourself about a team you clearly only love when it wins seems like a futile life pursuit.
