Hell yeah!
Now thats the way to head into the weekend.
This sucks...he isn't from Michigan. RichRod needs to go. Ohio players don't amount to anything!
Get a new joke!!!!!!!
He has a shit ton of offers.
Also, this kid is already a legend as he is our first commit after the self imposed sanctions came out. I like this kid way more than the comedian.
Offers from (according to Rivals):
BC
Cincinnati
Louisville
Nebraska
ND
Oregon
Pitt
Stanford
West Virginia
Wisconsin
I get a kick out of kids from Columbus heading to AA to play college football
Obviously isn't ann arbor, look at the disturbing lack of sidewalks!
Looks like a number of good programs would have liked to sign him in addition to us. Rivals says he had an OSU offer, but Scout says he didn't.
he's a guy that would've likely gone to OSU most years but they already have kenny hayes (stud) and steve miller (stud). with those two guys ahead of him in the pecking order, it made sense that he could (and obviously did) fall to us.
i'm hoping he'll play with a chip on his shoulder in the game each year as a result of being snubbed.
Nice.
No matter what a stripper says, there is no sex in the champagne room.
Welcome aboard, Mr. Rock.
No soundtrack, so it doesn't really count... but he spends an awful lot of time going all Reagan Smash in the backfield.
It says he's the #4-ranked player in Ohio according to Bucknuts. I think it's safe to assume he'll be #24 now that he commited to Michigan.
Is this #4 at his position, or #4 overall?
The way it was worded makes me believe it was overall. That being said, I have been wrong in the past.
He has a great frame to add some size!!!!
agreed.
Will be really nice if he pans out like another guy who recently wore #88 in HS...Craig Roh for those that may not have known.
One thing is for sure - Rock does not have stumpy legs.
It will be interesting to see if OSU now offers...
I ain't lookin over my shoulder for the MEDIA...
I'm looking for PASS RUSHING DEFENSIVE ENDS!!!
SECOND THOUGHT EDIT: God that was bad. 4:30 before a long weekend got the best of me. Neg this post. Neg it now. I deserve it.
As you wish...
will I learn?
Like Chris Rock said, "a man is only as faithful as his options."
Nice pick up! Is he the last DE they will take this class?
I'd guess yes... but it's such a position of need, they'll probably stay in on a few others on the off chance that we land another big name.
Seems like they landed their two best options, though, so I'm a happy camper either way.
Rock could bulk up and play inside at DT (though probably not the NT in the 3-3-5)... I think they'll go for another guy like Corey Marshall etc...
I figure they keep recruiting others, just in case one of these guys decide to go elsewhere or in case we hand a "big fish"
Is that a euphemism? I surely would not like to see us hand a big fish....I heard we will go blind or get hairy palms if we do.
someone like corey marshall, branden jackson, (enter stud DE name here)
He has the Craig Roh crab thing goin on. My only concern is strength, can you teach strength?
Anybody out there confident that Barwis can learn this boy some strength?
Upon this Rock, coach Robinson will build his D.
I hope the rock is granite and not sandstone.
Diamond! Diamond in the rough.
With good news such as this, some fans dobbers are going to be up!
If he can play right away, in 2011 our front seven is going to . . .
. . . Rock and Roh!
oh no...
Great to have you. Have a good holiday everybody
Did You Read The Bottom of the offers section of the latest post, he had Notre Dame and Michigan in his top two. Then when the DE position filled up at Notre Dame AND "THEY PULLED HIS OFFER" he commited to us..... I guess we all cant be plan A... Neg me All you want...just my opinion here.
...my command.
This doesn't make Michigan Plan B. All it means is that one of his two leaders filled up so his decision was made for him. It doesn't indicate that if ND hadn't PULLED HIS OFFER he wouldn't have ultimately selected Michigan.
Uh, how do you know ND was his plan A? How do you know UM wasn't his plan A all along? ]
not my info, but notre dame did fill up at OT so maybe thats what BRIAN was informing us about. and how do you know notre dame was not his plan A, if they werent....why did he commit only after the option pulled the offer? everyone needs to relax and enjoy others perspectives on here. If we all agreed on everything...it would be a very boring blog.
for you to produce any proof that ND was his favorite, at any time. All indications on scout and rivals pointed to Rock favoring UM.

SCOUT BEFORE NOTRE DAME FILLED UP AT OT:
Rock Likes the Vibe at ND |
||
|
Chris Rock had already seen the Notre Dame campus last fall, and he was familiar with the new Notre Dame coaching staff from their recruiting efforts at Cincinnati, but he hadn’t seen them together. The defensive end from St. Francis DeSales High School (Columbus, Ohio) recently took care of that when he visited for a junior day. |
You can argue yours, and i have mine, just my opinion...those who neg this debate without doing their due diligence are acting in ignorance. Unfortunately i could post the interest levels for scout before they updated to verbal..it was Medium across the board for all school. not showing a favorite...which lets us interput it as we want...think people
You're the one acting in ignorance. What is the purpose of that? It still doesn't prove anything, and it certainly doesn't support your contention that ND was Rock's top choice..... I couldn't care less what the outdated interest level sections show for recruits on scout or rivals. Up until a couple days ago, Scout showed Dee Hart having high interest in Auburn, Bama, and Florida, and low interest in Michigan. I'm talking about what the insiders on The Fort and Gobluewolverine.com were saying about Rock.
There was NO indication in the Fort or elsewhere that Rock only committed to UM because ND pulled his offer. I have not heard that at all.
Rock liked his time at ND, there is no question about it, but (and it's easy to say now) gun to my head a few days ago I would have said UM just based on a few of his statements over the past week.
obviously by all the negs, i was misunderstood...i took exception to one blogger. I never said notre dame was, all i said was after the offer was pulled by notre dame(as was posted by brian, and it was probably irony) Rock committed to us. Didnt mean to upset more then the one guy that was challenging the idea that others can see differently.
I am excited to have a stud like Chris on the team, and i do hope he plays with a chip on his shoulder. Though i could see him moved to OL by the fact that he is so gifted and just a Junior in HS.
Im sorry to the rest for offending them, just wanted others to think.....my bad
