What in the fuck are they doing at 86?! Hilliard Davidson has been state champions 2003, 2006 and 2009! What the hell has Coffman done lately to deserve being ranked? I bet their Dublin city council bought them a spot. Fucking Shamrocks.

I had to laugh at this one! But despite the fact I will always hate Coffman. I'm pissed Davidson didn't get ranked. I was in Darby's marching band I and I saw Davidson play Darby (Darby won in 2008) and ended up losing to Coffman in the semifinals of the playoffs. They were a huge rival of ours and still are. Davidson should be ranked though.

Rockford [of MI], who has beaten EGR and Muskegon repeatedly (not to say it's on a regular basis, as that would be overstating it). Also has won the state Div 1 title repeatedly (actually on a regular basis), with an almost-threepeat (champs, champs, runners-up) from I believe 2007-2009.

I should really know the years, as I graduated from there in '08. I think it may have been actually 2006-08, but I can't remember if we won my senior year then lost when I came back the next year, or if we lost my senior year. (/digression)

They should at least get an honorable mention. MI isn't really a football power state, I know, but several state championships should count for something. Also, the matchup and game vs. Muskegon that we won in an extremely dramatic fashion was covered in an ESPN special, so the national recognition and exposure should count for something.

I don't really follow the team closely anymore, though, so I'm not sure how good they'll be this year. I guess it's an updated list, so that'd be pertinent information.

Regardless, 2010 Girls' Lax Champs!!! (yes, I'm serious)

...but they are replacing nine starters on defense this year.  They have enough talent to win most of their games anyway, but getting past archrival Armwood (think miniature version of MIchigan/OSU game) will be problematic this year, and getting into the semis of the state playoffs will be extremely difficult.  Plant is one of two schools here that I follow more than others, and I hope Posada gives me a reason to take a few more trips across the bay than I had planned, but I don't think they will be number one at the end of the season.

The Big Reds have a few guys that are getting some D-1 looks, most notably Damon Knox.  Rivals has Knox with a Michigan offer, although I think it is noncommitable unless he gets his grades up.

Little Known Fact:  Muskegon's home field, Hackley Stadium, was constructed in 1927.  It was designed by Osborn Engineering, who also was a team member in the design of Michigan Stadium.  Some visitors give Muskegon grief because it is an old structure, but you got to love the history.

Sounds like homefield advantage to me.

It should be mentioned that over a third of the stadium is designated for the opposing team's fans.  Muskegon fans may spill over into those sections but the visiting sideline is on the opposite side of the field where all they have is a fence to their backs.  Who, exactly, are the Muskegon fans intimidating.

The Ok Red this year will be fairly close this year. Rockford and Muskegon are strong like always but I don't really think there's a clear favorite out of them. Also Grand Haven may very well contend for a title this year. So I think it's fair that Rockford should be up there and maybe even Grand Haven. I don't think these national guys really know as well. They just base it on last years results. This coming from a current Senior football player in the OK Red...

Grand Haven? Eh. Muskegon and East GR will be the usual suspects. Sprinkle in the occassional Rockford, Lowell, and sometimes Hudsonville. But to say these schools can compete with some of the other big dogs? It makes for interesting and hypothetical conversation.

Obviously these guys dont look at every high school team in the country but they probably start with the ones that continually dominate and I'm sure they figure in D-1 offers in their rankings. I would have to say that the CA, FL, and TX schools get a bump too just because their level of competition is so stiff.

Don't be surprised to see grand Haven win, they have the best senior class they've had in years, and maybe ever. They had one of their best seasons in recent memory, and all the opposing coaches made mention of how great their juniors were. Should be a three-way race between Rockford, Grand Haven and Muskegon.

EDIT: Out of the three, Muskegon is probably the third-best, I can't imagine that these rankings are pretty much shots in the dark.

No Rockford hugh?

Also the only time we ever played EGR was in middle school when I got trucked by Graddy. Though to be fair he was basicly the size he is now and I was like 5'8" 170lbs playing outside line backer.

Now that I am bigger I would like another shot.
