Glad that UMass corner has confidence, but really? Does he have any idea how ridiculous that statement is? Even if you had no dog in the fight, you have to wonder what the dude is thinking.

I can't wait til this kid realizes that he's in for quite the beat down.  It's too bad that the players don't actually get any of that 550,000 big ones, cause he might need some of it to cover his medical bills.

Wow you guys are taking this way to personal.  I think it's funny that the kid's talking trash.  Id rather have him talking shit then just saying ohhhh we're so intimidated by the big stadium.  Let him have his 15 minutes.

You have to remember you're talking about Michigan fans.  One second they think Wojo is the greatest journalist in all of the land.  The next they think his balls should be hung on a clothes line next to Rosenbergs.  This dichotomy is most visible when discussing Angelique, who most people view as reasonable/rational, but God forbid she write a negative comment, the herd will turn on her.  I'm sure nobody on our squad had any humorous comments about Notre Dame/South Bend/Notre Dame's stadium last week.   Some of these MgoFools honestly think the UMass football team should just show up and accept an ass whooping without displaying any emotion.   This game will be a good proportion of the UMass team's career highlight.  They should make the absolute most of it.  If that includes going into the opposing stadium and talking a little trash to get yourself in the right mindset to play a football game, so be it.  You don't need to take everything so damn personally.

The problem is that for so many fans at UM and everywhere else, whether they admit it or not, the success or failure of their favorite football team directly affects their self-esteem. That's why you see such vitriol directed at players, coaches, and other fans. It's not just a game any more—it's a reflection on one's worth as a person.

I'm not talking about the UMass guy, I'm talking about the responses in this thread. Talking about "knocking this kid's head off," "killing him," and calling him "shit head" makes you sound like a bunch of little brothers. The kid is trying to get amped to play a game on the biggest stage he'll ever see. I hope he has a memorable experience, and there is no need to wish harm upon a lesser opponent.

Totally agree with not wanting to have any harm come to a kid and that they sound rather immature at face value.  And yet, since we're on mgoblog and not mlive, I'll give the the posters of those comments the benefit of the doubt and say they're probably just talking hyperbole due to emotion about what the UMass player said, and don't actually want those things they said to transpire.  At least I hope they don't.  And if they do, I won't let my kid play with their kids for fear of them being a bad influence on him.  So take that (potential) mean-spirited jerks!

I'm surprised only one thought we could reach 50 points.  We may be averaging 29 ppg but we've rolled up over 1,000 yards of offense against two solid opponents.  The first half could be ugly for the UMass D.

Ke'Mon is having his day today, because  tomorrow he'll be looking pretty watching Denard blow by him in front of 110,000 screaming fans.

48-14  If we let up on them.

If a serious rival was saying this, I would be concerned.  But Bailey's "talk junk, look pretty, hit hard" routine makes me think he got hit in the head too hard while watching old Muhammad Ali films.

Jesus, some of you need to lighten up.  Or grow up.  Sounds like the kid's just having some fun.  A kid joking that the big house should be called the Little House on the Prairie is no reason to be wishing physical harm to him.

What do you want him  to say?  "We're here and we're scared?"  Take it easy - you have better things to do than pick on UMass players out here for a game.

aside from the umass corner talking trash and being compared to Drew Stanton's wit is the predictions for Michael Spath and Andy Reid:

Denard Robinson 52, Massachusetts 14

and

Michigan - A Whole Lot, UMass - Not Very Much At All
