i expect to see more info in tmro's weekly recruiting piece. Your thoughts?
i find this extremely interesting
Feeling a little bit better about this if it is an offer.
Wolverine Nation Unite!
Gotta love the QB/LB combo!
And with that name dad has to be an M fan.
I love a hoppy ending!
Any good trick plays up your sleeve that could utilize a QB/LB?
Blitz, knock down the pass to yourself, then pass it to.... yourself?
Tackle.
He seems to flow well to the ball, fills holes quickly, and lays a good hit. I know it's high school level but he could surprise with some good coaching.
I like the highlights.
Interesting music. A choice lyric: "Drink rosé til we black out. Wake up, drink more til we pass out." Classy.
"There was a time I could have been mistaken for Burt Reynolds. I had a moustache and so did he. But he was the number one star in the world, so there wasn't really much confusion."
Spend some time in or around Marseilles, France, and that will seem less out of place.
Rosé = water in the south of France
Go Blue! Always.
make you pass out from drinking it?
If so, À votre santé/à ta santé!
New Oldsmobiles are in early this year.

Can you shed any light on this?
Three star line backer out of Holland, MI. Project kid - or ready to play? That three star rating has me wondering. Does he hold any other offers?
Wolverine Nation Unite!
He has offers by Akron, BG, and Buffalo, which would worry me but the coaches definitely know what they are doing and have proven they can spot talent regardless of star ratings and other offers. So if he does commit, I say welcome to the leaders and the best.
Me fail english thats unpossible!
I don't know, star rankings are pretty huge. I mean, Denard was a 5-star QB recruit, right?
I'm pretty sure he was or else he wouldn't be doing as well as he is.

Me fail english thats unpossible!
Denard was a four-star recruit You expect pretty big things out of a four-star.
Braylon and Mike Hart were more under-the-radar.
Well, Denard was a 4-star Athlete, right? I seem to remember hearing that one of the biggest reasons that he chose Michigan was because they were willing to give him a shot at playing QB (unlike, say, Florida). So he was a 4-star, but not a 4-star QB.
Also, I thought it would be jumping the gun a bit to bust out the Vinopal reference.
Always could have gone with Patrick Pancakes-Five-Star-LBs Omameh
Me fail english thats unpossible!
Michigan, Florida and Kansas State all offered Denard the chance to play QB (although Florida did so fairly late in the game). Everyone agreed that he'd make a great college football player; the question was just at what position. It's not a great example.
Well, that's what I get for talking out of my ass about stuff I didn't really follow at the time.
Just look at this past recruiting class. Through some depressing amount of necessity, they haven't been able to redshirt, but look at the production we've gotten; Carvin, Dileo, Talbott, Vinopal (on special teams), Jeremy Jackson.

There has been talk about him starting to get some bigger offers soon, so this is the start. I would expect him to pick up a few more big ones. There's been a lot of good talk around him this year.
Tom VanHaaren I TomVH on Twitter I U Recruit I Email
I'm not Tom but rivals lists Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, and Michigan as his only offers. I wouldn't count on him making an immediate impact LB seems like it would be difficult to come in and play right away.
White linebacker?? What are we, Penn State now?? If there was orange hair on him I'd be bothered by it.
I'd even take some Rob Swett action as well.
about clint copenhaver...
See you in another life brother.

Latest MM Post(3-22-13) Devin Booker Mini Scouting Report
Dude's sporting a 4.0 and a 27 on the ACT. Maybe we'll get a Rhodes Scholar out of him!
"There was a time I could have been mistaken for Burt Reynolds. I had a moustache and so did he. But he was the number one star in the world, so there wasn't really much confusion."
He's obviously Myron Rolle with more grit.
I had a 27 and good grades, went to Michigan, and couldn't see a Rhodes scholarship using the Hubble telescope. Maybe the drinking did it...
"Everyone gets dumped Gabe. Let me give you some advice: a little coverup on your Adams Apple will make it appear smaller. Which will make you appear less like a transvestite."
His highlight reel shows him playing QB in a pistol offense, so he's probably a very good all-around athlete.
"You will suffer humiliation when the team from my area defeats the team from your area." -- The Onion
He runs like he just ate a whole patch of angry onions. I don't know enough to be able to tell if he's D1 material, but he seems to wrap up well and have pretty good instincts based on the few minutes of footage.
the hell is an "angry onion"?
I down-vote ANYONE that puts the "t" in front of osu. Don't be a tool.
Oh yea....screw msu too.
haha yes that is awsome i actually laughed when i read that .. and i agree WTF is an angry onion .. I'll take some if i can start trucking kids like he does lol
- Go Blue -
From my point of view(that has no "expertise")- He doesn't seem to be playing against very good competition, nothing against him, nothing he can do about that. With that said, it appears that it would be more of a project and almost certain RS.
Who knows though. Our lb crew needs so much help, hopefully he will be an impact player instantly.
So, yeah, Michigan high school football isn't exactly Texas, Florida, or California on the whole. However, West Ottawa plays in the OK-Red Conference, which is probably the best football conference in West Michigan.
Other schools in the conference? Oh, just Hudsonville, Rockford, Muskegon, East Kentwood, Grand Haven, Jenison, and Grandville. Look up those schools and you might not find a ton of high-flight D1 prospects, but what you will find are many good teams that simply win football games. I don't have the numbers in front of me for this particular season, but traditionally, and in the last few years, most of those teams are quite good (particularly Muskegon, Hudsonville, Rockford, and EK).

"The difference between a man and a boy is, a boy wants to grow up to be a fireman, but a man wants to grow up to be a giant monster fireman."
- Jack Handey
Ok am I the only guy confused by this kids two highlight videos. He is a linebacker and fullback his junior year and then all of a sudden he is a quarterback and linebacker and he seems to have gained a lot of speed and athleticism. Maybe Im way off and he looked the same in both but thats just what i saw. But he does seem like a very smart player who wont get caught out of position and more importanly he knows how to wrap and tackle
he played QB this year (they are in the Div. 1 playoffs) is that their normal QB blew his knee out in the pre-season. This kid is an animal and we would be lucky to have him.
Also, to those who rely solely on the rivals/scout rankings, understand that what matter is how they play at the next level.
"Forty-two Big Ten Championships!"
I'll be the first to say because you know someone is going to.
Can you imagine a package with Denard, Tate and Desmond in the backfield, offensive explosion!
You know, Dude, I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course.
Here's his highlights.. very impressive.
