I have not heard. He was a player I included in my preview of 2016 in-state recruiting, but I had only seen sophomore film up to that point so I didn't really rank him. I remember him having a good body and being perhaps overly aggressive, but he was raw. When I looked for film of him during the winter, I couldn't find any. Maybe he's just not doing a great job of promoting himself, although Oregon offered not too long ago, so word is getting out somehow.

Coming out of high school, he was a pretty crazy-athletic kid. He can run and jump and do all those things. He also knocks the crap out of people. But he's the type of kid who has no idea what he's doing, and the competition wasn't very good. So he would presumably be a work in progress, but he has high upside.

Hmmmm...maybe, but Charlton was bigger coming out of high school. Also, he didn't obliterate people like Williams did/does. I've always thought Charlton plays smaller than he is.

I cover high school sports in Southwestern Michigan and watched Jhonny play.  No doubt he was the best athlete on the field during football season, but he was rarely the best football player.  Never learned containment.  Always tried blowing the play up in the backfield, but failed to realize the RB had just shot through the hole he vacated.

On that note: a RB from another team broke a 70 yard run.  He busted through one of those gaps Jhonny didn't stay in and went from his own 10yd line to the Berrien Springs 20 yard line.  Jhonny chased him down and got the tackle.  The RB had a 20 yard lead at one point.  Didn't matter.

Combo of both. Depends what their philosophy was defensively. As a DC I typically ask my ends to ay flat against run heavy teams, particularly against zone read or a offset pistol look.

Typically though I would say it's on the player. It's something that should be corrected weakly in film but maybe in a small conference letting your best player be as physical as possible is enough for
You. From a philosophical standpoint it's not smart though.

Whoa. Really weird seeing a kid from BS coming to Michigan. I used to play Berrien in high school and there was never a time when I saw someone on that team (or anywhere else in our conference for that matter) that I imagined ever playing for Michigan. Pretty cool.
