Take it FWIW. After losing out on a higher rated guy, I'll take this as a nice compliment. I am excited to see what Justice and Thomas can do over their careers at U of M.
Rival's Mike Farrell ranks our RB class of '11 the Best in the Big Ten
You don't say...
We also finished 3rd in the Big 10 at DE, LB, and DB. 4th at athlete and TE. Now for the bad- tied for last at DT a position of dire need, last at WR (expected with taking none), 9th at QB, and 8th at Oline after finishing last the previous year (need a heavy dose of highly rated Olineman this year).
Reading the article from Rivals it was a bit disappointing reading about Zettel. Nothing else to really say.
Henceforth he belongs to Taylor Lewan.
Don't refer to players by just their first names unless you know them personally. You sound like the White Sox announcer.
I am from the Flint area so that's generally how they are referred to. I guess I'll take your -6 mgopoint opinion for what it's worth though...
When did that rule start? Also, I love the Hawk...and the White Sox (obviously).
That's proper grammar from 4th grade. you would never read an article about Charles Woodson where he is regularly referred to as "Charles." It's like starting a sentence with "and," it's not correct english. When you are writing about someone you don't know personally, you use their full name or just their last name. Try and find the last time Brian used just a player's first name (Zolton excluded).
Edit: Sorry, I'm a teacher so I have a pet pieve about people using just first names for people they don't know, which is why I detest "Hawk Harrelson"
I didn't realize the MGoBoard recently became the New York Times. And I think you mean, "It's proper grammar."
EDIT: And also: "pet peeve."
I never claimed to be "writing an article". I was creating a thread about 2 athletes that live within 15 minutes from me. Your opinion is rather irrelevant to me, because you lack credibility on this blog. As for Charles Woodson, for the record, you often hear him referred to as "Chuck".
And the negging begins. There, a proper sentence beginning with and. The only reason children are taught not to start sentences with "and" is to avoid fragments before they understand proper sentence structure
Negs are as useless as underpants in the new format. We're all just shootin blanks.
Negged for hating on underpants
I love how my phrase has caught on WRT the newly de-balled voting system.
A quick look at your history shows 2 out of your last 3 posts you are guilty of this forsaken "crime". Your referred to Tate Forcier as "Tate" and Lebron James as "Lebron". I knew I would quickly find the answer as to why you have -6 mgopoints by glancing at your history. Hypocrite. You, Sir, are a moron.
Being such a stellar sleuth it would seem you would know that he has -5 points.
Haha I don't know if I'm more upset I missed it, or more upset that he gained a point somewhere in between here.
With negs not working he'll be in the black soon enough.
Nice catch on his hypocrisy. I wonder how long it will take him to go back and edit his prior posts in order to get rid of the evidence?
YOU'RE NOT A POALIE; YOU'RE A PIEVE!!!!
When chiding people's grammar, it's best to make sure you spell all your words and names correctly. It's ZOLTAN.... Sorry but I have a pet peeve about spelling Michigan players names correctly on a Michigan football blog.
You're a teacher?! OH MY GOOOOOOOOOODDDDD!!!!!!
So much hate on the boards today. At this point an OT: Hate thread is needed for people just to vent.
First off, I think it's a pretty safe bet that Hawk Harrelson does know the players on the White Sox considering that he calls all of their games, travels with the team, and probably hangs around the clubhouse.
Secondly, I hope that you know Brian personally because you just referred to him by just his first name.
Desmond and Bo; nuff said?
And one of my pet PEEVES is those self rightous few who feel they must correct other posters' "english" regardless of the intelligence of the content of said posters' original post.
Do you perhaps teach "english" at State?
And finally is Denard not Denard?? Sadly, I cannot claim the pleasure of knowing him personally but I've heard he's a great guy.
One time, I used the same urinal as Denard after he used it. We now share a bond and I feel comfortable calling him by his first name.
You're Denard's pissing pal! That's a sacred bond right there!
Along with the other stuff already mentioned, I need to add:
(1) This convention that you seem to favor has nothing to do with grammar.
(2) Of course you can start a proper sentence with "and." The idea that you can't is rubbish.
One, starting a sentence with and is not technically wrong. Neither is calling someone by their first name. I would look at it as more of awkward writing, but since you're a teacher ill have to defer to your superior educational experience.
Starting a sentence with "and" is correct English. And you should probably quit while you're just a little bit behind.
Edit: Sorry, I'm a teacher so I have a pet [peeve] (sp) about people using just first names for people they don't know[. That's] (usage/sentence construction) why I detest "Hawk Harrelson"[.]
I am as much a grammar and spelling hound as anyone because I write for a living, but this is a fan blog, not a professional journal. Lighten up.
What is the matter SWAN? Nothing to add SWAN?
SWAN, does your lack of communication skills cause this lashing out?
Sarcasm Alert: I am calling you by your first name even though I don't know you. Get it?
Please don't tell me you refer to our QB as "Robinson." That would just be awkward.
Yesssssssss! Fake posbangs for everybody!
You're losing credibility BlueDragon. You didn't posbang anyone.
Now are you gonna up-vote me and complete the circle or will I just have to up-vote myself, lonely and alone?
Naw man. I got you.
Now say it's 12:42 AM and I haven't gotten one little pos all night. If I call on you then, in my hour of greatest need, will you have my back then?
Those 12:42 phone calls are freaking her out. You're even more punctual than Denarded.
Does her boy toy du jour have >7800 MGoPoints? No? I didn't think so.
I was going to start a "negged for" thread with talking about MGoPoints, but alas I have to leave MGoBlog to start MGoDrinking.
