Rivals has Michigan as the number one offensive line recruiting class for 2013

Duh! Way to go out on a limb there Rivals...

Other wild stances by Rivals.com:
-Nazis are bad
-Drinking mercury may be harmful

I tried it twice both times said invalid.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:22 AM ^
It works for me.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:24 AM ^
Works for me as well. #1 o-line, #5 RB, #5 tight end rankings.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:08 AM ^
This is important because OSU and ND have had some nasty d-line hauls in the past couple years...
February 9th, 2013 at 10:17 AM ^
Well according to many Ohio fans, they are guaranteeing complete domination by their DL recruits, even though said fans have never watched the recruits play a single snap.
Buckeye fans are always good for a laugh.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:18 AM ^
Just like I can guarantee that their D-Line will be getting shoved 3-4 yards off the line of scrimmage on every snap by the monstrous wooly mammoths that will comprise our O-Line. Not to mention they won't be able to touch Derrick Green until he's already at least 5 yards upfield.
See I can play that game too. But like you said, Buckeye fans are always good for a laugh or two.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:12 AM ^
With Notre dame, won't be playing them much in the future anyways.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:16 AM ^
um....OK
February 9th, 2013 at 10:18 AM ^
Now let's hope we can get a similar result from D line recruiting in 2014.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:20 AM ^
Also give us #5 RB and TE classes.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:48 AM ^
Excluding him as well and still being #5

February 9th, 2013 at 10:23 AM ^
wasn't the Kalis class #1 as well?
February 9th, 2013 at 10:27 AM ^
I think that went to Stanford. Garnett, Murphy, etc. They had a crazy haul on par or better than the group Hoke pulled in this year.
Edit: http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/commitme…
It's pretty crazy. Two 5 stars, four 4 stars, and a 3 star.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:25 AM ^
But I doubt it. If I remember right, Stanford had an insane O Line haul last year, including two five stars.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:49 AM ^
Damn you, Josh Garnett
February 9th, 2013 at 10:40 AM ^
I think it was the 3rd ranked.
February 9th, 2013 at 10:34 AM ^
Bama having the best TE class with 1 kid. OJ is a beast, but 1 kid is a class?
I hope their class doesn't sprain an ankle on 1 play.
February 9th, 2013 at 1:10 PM ^
You would think by the same logic Michigan would be hands down the #1 running back class as well.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:02 AM ^
In their rankings by position listings, you find the following:
For OT, Kyle Bosch at #7, Chris Fox at #11 and Logan Tulley-Tillman at #24.
For OG, Patrick Kugler at #6, David Dawson at #9 and Dan Samuelson at #33.
The #1 overall rating for OL is a testament to an stellar job of recruiting by this staff.
Even better, as this article notes, getting top-tier recruits at various positions doesn't end there. As a bit of trivia, we also have the #10 and #22 ranked recruits projected at CB and #5 and #32 at DT, according to Rivals anyway. Excellent times indeed.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:14 AM ^
well, no need to watch any games the next few years. We are already #1
February 9th, 2013 at 11:17 AM ^
Just in case
February 9th, 2013 at 11:18 AM ^
It's too bad that the staff decided to shut down their OL recruiting after they got 5 verbals because Ethan Pocic was extremely interested in coming here and he's more talented than the majority of our recruits.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:36 AM ^
I'm happy with the guys we have. Besides, I really believe that if we started taking on more O-Linemen, we are almost guaranteed of some attrition.
February 9th, 2013 at 1:02 PM ^
We turned the heat off on Pocic, but then ended up with 6 commits on the line.
February 9th, 2013 at 6:09 PM ^
The coaches were telling all of the OL recruits a year ago that they were taking five. If they had said they were taking six then, it's impossible to know if they would have gotten all of those early commits, Pocic included. It would be nice to know how much room you have in the class from the beginning. Then you could budget the spots perfectly. We would have tried to add a third LB, maybe snagging Reshke or S. Jones. But is that any more realistic than saying we shouldn't have wasted any time and effort recruiting Treadwell, Isaac or anyone else who turned us down?
February 9th, 2013 at 11:27 AM ^
Osu didn't have a position group that made this list... I thought they brought in a monster class.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:47 AM ^
Youn beat me to it! Not on there in any Offensive catagory!
February 9th, 2013 at 12:20 PM ^
This is just offensive positions. Their DB haul was the best in the country.
February 9th, 2013 at 9:01 PM ^
I agree with that. Their db class is good. Even without Von they pulled a top five db class. But just having good db's doesn't make their class unbelievable.
February 9th, 2013 at 11:45 AM ^
Well, they've got a coach with a monster ego to match that monster class.
February 9th, 2013 at 12:26 PM ^
jesus...
February 9th, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
i love my canadian boy stauskas, but he needs to work on his drives.
February 9th, 2013 at 12:42 PM ^
Wrong thread?
February 9th, 2013 at 1:07 PM ^
His inside run blocking on extended offensive drives, seeming to wear down.
February 9th, 2013 at 1:22 PM ^
The class....
This one's for you, LSAClassof2000...
