Rivals camps - worth seeing?
Has anyone attended the Rivals camps? Are they worth it? The Pittsburgh one is on Sunday, and it is 10 minutes from my house. I think it is like 8 am to 5 pm, so I was not planning to spend the whole day there. However - I would like to stop by for an hour. I wanted to see how Ferns was doing, and a few other prospects will be there (like Nicholson).
Just go and see for yourself.
Yeah, what else you gonna do, go to a Pirates game?

haha, agreed. I'm driving in from Ohio Sunday. Thinking I'll spend the morning at camp then dip out for lunch and to explore a little, then head back for the end. I think that's when they'll giving giving grades and you can see the recruits up close. I'll be wearing something Maize and Blue so look for me
If it's that close, why not just go? It's not like you'll be wasting a ton of time if it's not worth it.
... can you pick me up some smack?
If you really live that close just go. If it sucks it is not like you wasted a ton of time. If I lived that close I would check it out once just to see how it all works.
Let us know on Monday
Live in monroeville and was gonna make the drive but not sure how that works as i've never attended one. Any ideas??
Gas on the right, break is on the left. Turn your lights on at night.
That was funny!
sorry it's a habit
Definitely go and give us your post-Rivals thoughts in diary format. I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts. I've never been - and don't have an opportunity to see one nearby my home - so I'm living vicariously through you. No pressure whatsoever, but just know that my weekend now depends on you attending.
I'm gonna guess they are boring as hell unless you're a participant, a parent or a reporter.
Don't show up for the first two/three hours. Its mostly Paperwork, height/weights, and then bench, 40's, verts, etc (gets boring withing 10 minutes). The more interesting stuff comes after (individuals drills, 1V1's, pass rush, etc).
This is the only non-snarky response to OP.
The Board gets testy when there's no football/basketball/hockey to watch. I may need to take up a new hobby myself. Anyone know how to get in touch with any Pitt players?
Ouch...
Or you could just watch the NHL. Cause no one really cares about the NBA these days, apparently.
If you enjoy talented hs football players then I would recommend it. Fun to see the best of the best, so to speak, because they rarely face off on a weekly basis in high school (obviously, depending on league) have been to one for a player I coached and it was eye opening how much talent here is at such a young age. These kids really do have such an advantage when it comes to transitioning to college, but also being noticed by elite programs. As previously mentioned, do not go at 8am. Wait until at least 10 so hey can actually begin competitive drills.

Yes- if you:
1. Head-to-toe maize and blue body paint
2. Sing "The Victors" non-stop at the top of your lungs
3. Hide inside tackling dummy
4. Ask if you can shag fly balls
5. Bring enough money to post bail
More tequila please.
